That may be a stretch.....they don't "play well with each other"........

Roy, Congrats and a Challenge!!!

Roy,

It?s nice to see your unwavering support and love for Team Europe. So from all of us in the United States of America please accept this congratulatory message to you and your beloved Team Europe in your Mosconi Cup victories in 1995, 2002 and 2008!!!

We would also like to take a moment and reflect back on Team USA?s victories in 2007, 2006, 2005, 2004, 2003, 2001, 2000, 1999, 1998, 1997, 1996, 1994.

So with humility please allow me to point out that Team USA has an 80% win ratio since the inception of the Mosconi Cup. What does this mean? One thing that can not be argued is that Team USA was better 80% of the time. Others may say that on average the United States of America has better 9-ball players than all of the European Countries combined.

But we all know that pool players in the USA are better conditioned to perform under pressure when money in on the line. For us it?s a way of life and has been for many years. For Europe pool is an ego / social event and your wardrobe and billiard accessory collection are just as important as how well you players play?and that?s okay.

Have fun, look stylish and get you photo on AZ Billiards.

Regarding your One Pocket comments I would like to cut to the chase and challenge your team Immonen / Appleton vs. Jones / Owen to a scotch doubles gambling event in Houston, TX. PM me if you are willing to put your money where your mouth is.

Warm regards.

Ralf Souquet almost won the DCC for the fourth time in 6 years, that's amazing. He finished tied for 3rd, with Adam Smith, a youngster that impressed me already in the one-pocket tournament with some great shooting. On top of that Ralf finished 2nd in the Fatboy 10-ball tournament, won by Lee Van Corteza.

I am not surprised that an American won the banks, since it is mostly played only in Kentucky...

In One-pocket I am really surprised that John Schmidt won, but I were betting on him since it was impossible to get action the other way around. Everyone wanted Scott Frost.

In 9-ball I really rooted for Lee Van Corteza, but the luck was on the American side this time. Minutes after the match Lee Van said to me "If he wants to gamble me in a longer race I am ready to play him anytime". I like that attitude, and I know that Shane Van Boening feels the same too, so I am looking forward till next time these two champions will meet eachother. It was a good final, and America can really be proud of Shane.

Anyway, the American's didn't have a chance in the most important tournament of all, which was the One Pocket Challenge.

Mika Immonen and Darren Appleton got the 3 highest finishes, while the guy I backed in the Challenge, Efren Reyes, finished 4th.

Great reply Hungarian Nut telling im like it is and was for all these years, if they didn't let them win a Mosconi cup every few years they would just quit. USA rules the world this month as always and it's going to be a great year for pool.--Leonard

I understand that American's are hungry for some success, but to cheat on the facts won't make it better.

Europe won in 2007, in Las Vegas. In 2006 it was a draw, the score was 12-12.

The thread title should be:
Three American Champs....and one very bitter European :D :D :D

Best post ever!!! resp to you !!!
Go post on the european AZ billiards oh wait:eek:

Correction...USA 73%...not 80%

I stand corrected. Wasn't trying to cheat just got confused when typing out all of the USA victories.

You are correct...Europe won in 2007. 2006 was a tie but the USA retained the cup.

Corrected USA Cup percentage is 73%.

Congratulations

Again Roy I offer my corrected congratulations for a 26% winning ratio over the course of the Mosconi Cup history.

All together now:

USA, ALL THE WAY!

And to Roy, we still enjoy you here on this forum. Please don't take the gentle banter of us versus them to heart! Sometimes things can, and do, get carried away. I know, don't I?! :embarrassed2:

In football, basketball, and baseball we don't even let the rest of the world compete. So, I guess "we" can't let them win.

I don't know how "we" as American let anyone beat us. "We" as American's let anyone come over to compete in our leagues as individuals but not as countries. "We" as Americans let tennis players and golfers compete in the US Open and sometimes they win. Yes, they do. How is pool any different? It isn't. It is an individual sport.

In my opinion, this is a quote from a sore loser. Someone looking for excuses. If anyone "let" them win, then they should be ashamed.

That being said... congratulations to USA players this year, especially SVB.

Thanks Matt90

I'm just sick the bad weather up there stopped me from being there in person this year, my streak is over but what the hay. GO AMERICA

Leonard

Congrats are in order for you (American). These indeed are a great win for American and for the sport. Imho good competition and rivalry is good for the sport, it keeps the sport growing and keep the fans anxious.
When the Taiwanese dominates the Guinness 9 Ball Tour it disencouraged me to watch the live broadcast eventough I'm a Taiwanese supporter.

The reason why my posts consists of so few words is simply because i am typing when standing on an internetstation. last time in chicago, now in frankfurt.

why should europe compete in one-pocket against usa? one-pocket is never played in europe, and the few europeans who plays it only plays it at the derby. but maybe u need unfair competition to have a chance to win...

Unfair competition, did the USA players play with bigger pockets or just have to make less balls than the Euro's to win. That would be unfair but if both groups play with the same equiptment you arn't allowed to Whine.-- LOL--Leonard Roy just kidding and I hope you had a great trip and can return next year so we can meet.
