thursday matches

Bob is great, but the other guy... jeeze. Everytime Bob tries to clue him in on a little knowledge "..I don't know about that one, maybe he'll try.." the guy cuts him off and just repeats "No I think he'll do (this), ya, he's gonna' do (this)," speaking over Bob.

You'd think the other dude would realize this after being wrong again and again...

Somebody should try to get Danny Barouty in the booth for the matches tomorrow...at least one of them.

Schmidt over Thorsten in the worst match I've seen so far! :grin-square:

Agreed they played a little rough but that cut shot John came with at the end from nowhere was epic... and he did find a way to win the match and is in the final 4!!! Nice tournament Thorsten!!

I don't know what time I will be getting there tomorrow. But they staggered the matches so that all 3 remaining matches will be on the Live Streaming Table.

I believe the matches are 10:30, 1pm and 4pm. But I may be wrong on those times.

BayGene posted that they are scheduled for 11:00AM, 2:00PM, 5:00PM New York time.

Innings?

Does anyone know how many innings the JS/TH match took? It was a little painful to witness

Just kidding – not sure. I lost count. Mika also had a terrible game on that table in the match right before John and Thorsten. After the match, the stream was still on and Schmidt was talking to John Leyman (TD) and told him that on this table, you can't play the "nip and bump" type game they are all used to. Wonder if it has anything to do with the racking the balls where the "kitchen" is instead of how this table is usually played (note the two rack outlines)? Since several people ran 100s on this table earlier in the week, I would say not, but I guess you never know.

JS vs TH

I did not see the match but from what I hear about it. That would be the first DVD match that I would purchase of all the matches. I know these two great players can run a 100 balls with a blink of an eye but I want to see matches when they struggle. To see how they handle it & attempt to play more defense to counter act what is happening at the table. As great as the two of them are, it is refreshing to know that they are human like the rest of us.

Who is racking on the stream table?

Mark:

I couldn't watch the stream (was at work, late shift), but did John say anything about "racking" on that table? I ask, because on Facebook, in a comment to Steve Lipsky, Mika said words to the effect that he kept getting slugracked on that table in his match with Efren. On that table, is the opponent racking, or is a ref racking?

It's been a mix throughout the matches I've watched—with the opponent racking and the player shooting racking their own.

Schmidt was complaining how the table was playing slow throughout his match with Hohmann..

Which is why in some shots he was muscling more than finessing it.
