tiger ONYX tip vs other tiger tips

I have put them on most of the good players in my area because I liked them so much and everyone loves them, very little difference compared to an Everest.--Leonard

I like the new SARIN tip that comes on the Poison cues...I just ordered another one for my other cue..Holds chalk well...Don't have to keep reshaping..Just feels good when hitting with it... I had been using Everest and Moori....

This is just my opinion, and I'm not bashing the company at all, but as far as personal feel, they're junk compared to the Kamui Black. Tommy D.

Tommy D,

You have a right to your own opinion, but the word "junk" should NEVER be used in asscociation with the Tiger Onyx tip.

I've tried the Kamui SS tip and it felt like a superball on the end of my shaft: very spongy. From what I've read of others' similar sentiments of the SS believe I would have had better results with Kamui's regular S (soft) or M (medium) tip.

After trying a myriad of tips over the years, including Moori, Molavia, LePro, Triangle, Elkmaster, Hercules, Talisman, Black Diamond, and others too numerous to mention, my sentiments are right-in-line with AZ'er "fathomblue." This tip is, arguably, the best tip on the market right now! It does hold chalk better than any tip I've ever used, and it hasn't mushroomed, either. I think it's built for the LONG HAUL!

More importantly, layered tips typically compress over time, and the hardness rating of the tip increases. So far, after a year of use, this tip feels like "Black Velvet" when I apply chalk. It is NOT the same as a Tiger Sniper, though that is also a fine tip.

Regular Jack Daniels whiskey is satisfactory. But when you take regular black label JD and put it back in charcoal lined, oak barrels, allowing it to age for another year, while removing impurities, "Gentleman Jack" is created. That extra time creates a whole new product, and one that is wprthy of your extra dollars.

If I had the money, I would go back and change every one of my cues to a Tiger Onyx. While I'm perfectly fine with a Moori Medium or orignal brown Kamui Soft, this tip is like "Haagen Dazs," and the aforementioned are more like "Breyers" ice cream. You get the idea? They're both very good, but the Tiger Onyx is a special treat for your pool stick! The company claims that it is made using a laborious process, and one that takes a lot of time. You can literally feel a sense of quality with your first and every shot!

If it sounds like I'm cheerleader for Onyx tips, then that's what I am. Give me an O. Give me an N. Give me a Y. Give me an X.

Give me a Tiger Onyx every time.

YMMV,

Glen (strum4u)

i tried a sniper from a azer recommendation and liked it, then tried an onyx and it was better than a kamui black ss and certasinly better than a moori medium, but the onyx seemed to glaze over just a bit after a couple of weeks use so i went back to the sniper. still happy with it and doubt i will try anything else anytime soon. sniper is "it" for me!
