TigerX Ultra Ferrule Cracking

Has anyone else had issues with tigerX ultra ferrule cracking at the bottom of the ferrule?

I had one shaft with this issue and had local repair guy fix this. The same happened twice after his repairs. I thought that possibly he was not installing them correctly. Since then I have had the same issue on two other original shafts. The ferrule is cracking between the ferrule and the wood part of the shaft, not between the ferrule and the tip.

I love the product but constantly having to have these addressed though the warranty is becoming a big deterrent to continuing to play with these shafts.

Has anyone else seen this issue with the Tiger Ultra shafts?

But.....they're made in the USA so this can't be happening, right? (sorry, couldn't resist)

I hope you get this problem resolved. It sounds like there may be a problem with the tenon. I would think that Tiger would step up and do what is right in this situation, as long as there are no signs of abuse (I'm not accusing you of abusing your shaft, just making a general statement).

There is not even a tenon in the shaft. The shaft has a ridge one which the ferrule sits. The thinkness of the ferrule at the base is very thin. This is why I was asking if anyone was having issues. Tiger has ALWAYS replaced or repaired the equipment that I have had issues with. Right now I just have two shafts that are broken and it is becoming a nusance to always have them repaired.

yeah, mine did crack. but it was repaired by warrenty and it did solve the issue. mayb its just some bad batch of ferrules?!

I'm pretty sure they have an updated ferrule you can replace it with. I personally have 3 Tiger cues, I have an older X ultra shaft and a newer Xld shaft, no problems with either of them. I have seen 2 of the older X shafts have damaged ferrules but installing the new design ferrule fixed it on both occasions.

Also I noticed you didn't mention anything about the ferrule being a screw on type, which I think they are. Perhaps the tenon part of the shaft that had the threads is missing, causing these problems for you?

You should explore having your shafts repaired by Tiger, keeping any possible warranty intact. Should though you like another option...I can repair your shafts and give you a lifetime warranty that the ferrules will never break again.
