Tight Pockets / Open Pockets

I usually play on a table with open pockets. By that I mean that you can put two balls between the corners of the corner pockets and there is still about 1/8" of of space still left.

Today I played on a table with tough pockets. Two balls would not fit between the corners of the corner pockets. What a difference this makes, very tough to pockets balls but much more of a challenge.

I also have a question - Do the pros play on tough or more open pocket tables?

Mostly on tough tables.

By playing on tables with tight pockets you learn to play better position, simply because you need better position to make the balls

yeah what he said. it teaches you to stay on the right side of the ball and keep the right angle
