Tight Pockets / Open Pockets

I usually play on a table with open pockets. By that I mean that you can put two balls between the corners of the corner pockets and there is still about 1/8" of of space still left.

Today I played on a table with tough pockets. Two balls would not fit between the corners of the corner pockets. What a difference this makes, very tough to pockets balls but much more of a challenge.

I also have a question - Do the pros play on tough or more open pocket tables?:D

Mostly on tough tables.

By playing on tables with tight pockets you learn to play better position, simply because you need better position to make the balls ;)

yeah what he said. it teaches you to stay on the right side of the ball and keep the right angle
