Tikkler Cue - Part 1 of 2

The other cue isn't quite ready, but I have to head out to the Meet and Greet. Here's a quick picture of the two butts side by side:

I was going to start a new thread for the second cue, but it's not quite ready to go. I saw a few spots in the finish I need to address. I put a throw away wrap on the cue so I could show it to Steve yesterday and let him choose between the two cues. He chose the new one, as I suspected he would have. Both cues are spoken for.

Here's some closer pictures of the new ringwork.

They both look great. I think I like the butt with abalone in it a tad better over the silver. Great looking cues...........

They look great great to see you again at the show thanks for the hats we had such a great time at the meet and greet mark and joe first class all the way

thanks. As for the other cue, the finish wasn't where i wanted it to be when i went to spray again tonight, but hopefully it will be where i need it in the morning. In my opinion, the other cue blows this one away, even though the design is almost identical.

After reading this I have to wonder what the original owner of the first cue is thinking.

Steve, I think he meant the original cue, but my comments weren't meant to put down that cue. I just really liked the way the Abalone looked. The owner of the other cue liked it as well.

Steve got himself a couple of winners! I personally like the 2nd one better, but they are both clean, sharp, and superbly executed.
Did I mention how much I like that new trim ring...?

Steve is getting the one with the new rings. The other one belongs to Guycrunch. I just have to finish up the JP's and another coat of finish on the shafts and they're both ready to go. Another week approximately. I haven't touched a cue since Saturday before I went to the Meet and Greet. My wife is away and comes back tomorrow. If the living room isn't finished being painted, I will be a dead man and then nobody will get a cue.

I like the new rings too. This is the first cue I've completed with them and I think they came out really good. I had a few bugs to work out in them when I started on them about 3-4 months ago, but in doing that, I think I fixed all my issues with the old rings. The hardest thing to do with the old rings was the barbells in the butt on rings that only had 4 Barbells and Ivory Circles. I doubled them up on this cue and they came out great.

I'll have some samples of your inlays soon for you in an email Chris. I hope this week, but as usual, I still have a few things to do first. Both shouldn't take too long though.

Well, we want you to continue with the cues, so I guess we know that momma made the priorities real clear:-) The gals have a way of doing just that thing don't they - lol...
I'll look forward to seeing my stuff when you get to it. Keep on keepin' on!
