I agree about the Scruggs, if I would not have just recently got the Frey cue that Scruggs would be mine. JW is nice too.
 
Both cues are very nice.
Looks like the initial price is right in the ball park I would expect.
Will have to see how quick they move (slow market or not).

Thanks for the comments, folks. These 2, in particular, are really nice, older cues.
 
I like the oval rings on the Scruggs. You don't see too many cues with oval rings in them. ;) I actually prefer them to the solid oval 'windows', as I feel they take a bit more work, and showcase the inlays very well, IMHO. I like the veneer colors in this cue as well....very nice cue there, Joe. I'm sure it won't last long!:D

I Like Both Of These Classic Cues, I Just Have A Quick Question(my Eyes Are Shot) Are The Outer Veneers On The Jw Rounded Or Sharp? I Only Ask Because If They Are Rounded It Doesn't Make Any Sense For That Time Period. Please Don't Take My Question The Wrong Way I'm Just Being Curious.

Absolutely no offense taken. The cue is what it is, and I'm certainly no expert. The outer points are slightly rounded, the inner points are razor sharp.

The Blue Book says he used this particular JW logo from 1972-1980. Since I did not know much about JossWest cues, I emailed Bill Stroud detailed pictures of it. Here is his email reply.......

THAT WAS THE PART THAT MADE ME CURIOUS. THE CUES FROM THIS ERA ARE USUALLY SHARP ON THE OUTER VENEERS, I DIDN'T THINK IT WAS UNTIL LATER ON THAT THE OUTER VENEERS WERE ROUNDED.

ALL IN ALL IT IS A NICE CUE, IT JUST MADE ME CURIOUS. THANKS FOR THE INFO.

It is a VERY nice cue in person, in EXCELLENT condition with only 1 very, very slight ding (not even a ding...you can't feel it, but you can slightly see it) on the forearm.

THANKS AGAIN JOE, I'M SURE THAT THE CUE IN PERSON IS GORGEOUS. IN MY HUMBLE OPINION, THE JW CUES FROM THAT ERA ARE THE NICEST ONES. I'M NOT A FAN OF THE FANCY STUFF HE'S DOIN NOW. GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR SALE, I'M SURE THAT WILL MAKE A PLAYER OR COLLECTOR SOMEWHERE VERY HAPPY.

P.S. AGAIN, I HOPE YOU KNOW THAT THIS WAS IN NO WAY AN ATTACK ON THE CUE. I'M ALWAYS LOOKING FOR AS MUCH INFO AS I CAN GET ABOUT CUES, AND THIS CUE HERE SHOWED ME SOMETHING I HADN'T SEEN BEFORE.
