Tim Scruggs Comeback

WOW! That would be really great it Mr. Scruggs was interested in making cues again. I would love to get on that list. Please let me know if he is looking to get an order list together. I have a cue design Ive been really wanting to get made.

Happy Thanksgiving all!
Cheers,
Wayne

Back in Action!?

Dean,
Please add me to the list as well, I think there will be more than enough interest to bring him back if that is what he wants.

Thanks

Michael

Would love to get on Mr. Scruggs List. He makes one of the best pool cues on the market.

I would definitely absolutely without hesitation put a deposit down on no less than 4 cues. It would be a dream come true...

I would love to have a Scruggs hoppe too!!! Had one, sold it. Wish I never did... So if he decides yes, put me in the list...

Count Me In..............

Why is everyone worried about Tim,of course its his decision,
He asked me if I thought I could get him enough business if he did.
I thought I would ask for indications of interst from you AZ ers

If you order one and he comes back,we aere all winners
He will only make a few cues per year, and we all know what that will mean .

If you give me an indication of interest and Tim sees it here it
will make his choice easy.

If you always wanted one, this may be our on;y chance.

Dean,

Tim is fortunate to have a friend as great as you are.

If he decides he is going to make some cues, you can certainly count me in for one. I already have some ideas going in my head.

I played with one of Tim`s cues for several years, and found it to be stellar in every way.

Of course I wish Tim well, even if decides he wants to retire for sure. He is a very special person and a very special cuemaker.

Scruggs Cue

I would certainly take a new Scruggs and wish to be added to the list also, but have a question. I heard that all of his equipment and machines were sold and moved. If this is the case, how can he get back into the cue making business?
Mike

I am overwhelmed at not only the orders but the PMs and calls I am receiving.I hope Tim sees just how much he is loved by the people he spent a lifetime pleasing

I hope to hear from another few, those of you familiar with his work, know how great these cues really are. His,and Mikes attention to deatail in appearance and construction is legendary

When I think of my personal experience with cues ,Tim stands alone as the only survivor of George,Gus and Tim. The three real pioneers and the makers of the cues I love.Tim still stands for mitred veneers and old fashion excellance

We might never have the chance to own one of the others, but we might get one more chance to own one of Tim's.Tomorrows home run today .

Think it over, its not just a chance to help Tim,its your chance to really get something special.

If I sound like a salesman,I can't help myself! But every cent these cues cost will be going to Tim.I'm not in this for the money.I know that retirement gets old quick, from experience

I dont get it.
Everybody wants to get on the list and there are like tons of Scruggs not getting sold here on the Forum or with other Dealers. Even unplayed Scruggs Cues are not changing Hands.

Everybody is struggling and blaming the economy for that and now all over sudden they go nuts to get on the list for even a more expensive one.

Pls explain it to me. Did i miss the bus

If he's going to get back into cuemaking for a year or two, I think he should take on an apprentice and pass his skills on to another generation. And if he's a smart business man and would like to feather his retirement nest, I'm sure someone would pay some real dollars for the priviledge. For the apprentice, it would probably mean a guaranteed fanclub upon completion, and Tim's retirement. Look what it did for Joel Hercek...

Mr Hoppe
Your comments and conclusions are something Tim is considering.
I didn't mean to say that Tim would only be back for exactly 24 months, but considering all things your advice is good.

May I suggest that you take advantage to get one while and if it is possible.
All of your dealings will be directly with Tim,I am just doing this one thing

Dean

Dennis Glenn, the famous Balabushka and Szamboti collector has instructed me to place his name on the list to buy
for at least one ivory cue,and express words of high praise , for tim and his cues.
Noting that several Scruggs are already in his collection
and there is room for more

i would jump at the chance to do this instead of buying used as i would be the designer and pick my own woods etc.....
all the hoppe's i see are ebony into maple with whatever veneers... i'd like something like galcano into cocobolo with fire veneers or something interesting... and of course you'd be involved in the whole process...
it's more than just 'buying a cue' and with an awesome maker that COULD BE MAYBE coming out of retirement to do this... well it's really an opportunity of a lifetime... and really worth it.............
just my .02 cause ya asked.....
p.s. if i found a used scruggs that really floated my boat i'd jump in the water....... :-)

Because there is something special and magical about getting a cue directly from the maker that was built for you. For some folks that is the thrill not just owning the cue.

I was in Tim's shop in 1994 and it was "magical". My friend Andi bought 20 of 30 cues he had ready for the Super Billiards Expo.

This has zero to do with the secondary market. It has to do with whether Tim Scruggs feels like making cues again or not. If so then there are a lot of folks who would love a chance at getting one from him directly.

@ Joe Van Buren: If someone bought a Scruggs that was the last one Timmy made before he quit then that cue was sold properly. Roy Malott bought a wrapless SouthWest for more than 4k based on Laurie's statement to him that they were NEVER going to make more wrapless cues. And less than a month after Roy puts that cue on his site years ago he gets an email from a customer that Laurie is taking orders for wrapless SWs. Roy bought the cue in good faith based on the circumstances at the time. I guess the only way to ever truly get the "last" one is when the cue maker is unable to make them anymore. Otherwise, like Elvis they can always make a comeback :-)

I sincerely hope that Tim is doing what he wants to do and will find enjoyment in it. I loved my Scruggs and I wish I had never sold it.

My wife wanted to know what I wanted for Christmas...So I showed her this thread!

Thanks again for all the light that we are getting into the cue business and
the dynamics between cue maker and buyer

What a great looking case that John has,I know he made 2 nice ones for Tim and Mike sometime ago

Perhaps John could make something special for each of what will be a limited number of cues each year. That is if Tim is crazy enough about pool to come back
