F/S 20yr old 4 point w/Veneers and Spears Timmy Scruggs

Hello, I have a beautiful older (just about 20yrs old) model Scruggs. I am the original owner and, for those who know, I bought this from Timmy when his shop was in the old slaughterhouse.
I will not say that my cue is the exact one that used to be on his "menu", but he had one with the exact same colors as mine when he did a color, picture, sales brouchure, back in the late 80's, early 90"s.
This was my everyday player for many years. Several years ago, when I heard that Timmy was not making cues any longer, himself, that is, I put this cue away and have not played with it since.
Please forgive me on the specs as I don't have a scale or micrometer.
I believe the cue to weigh approx. 19 1/2oz. Both shafts are original, which would make them about 13mm. Triangle tips. Joint is stainless steel and Timmy's standard 5/16x14 joint.
Unbelievable BEM forearm. Wonderful veneers and spears. I am not totally 100% sure, but I think that the points and butt sleeve are Ebony. Either Ebony, or a REALLY dark stain. Just look at the pictures for yourself.
Just so that I am completely honest, there are a few small dings in the butt sleeve. There is a crack in one of the shafts. IT WAS REPAIRED. It's a long story, but the bottom line is that a shaft cracked, no collar damage, just a crack, and it was repaired. repaired well enough that the shaft in question, was my regular playing shaft.
The cue is a monster player.
It has the original milled aluminum joint protectors from Timmy. I don't know about the rest of you, but every used TS I see, doesn't have them anymore....at least not the original ones.
I am having a little work trouble and NEVER thought about selling this cue. My troubles are your gain.
I am looking for $1000 obo.
I am also not looking for any trades at this time, sorry.
With this being my first FS post, I hope I load the pictures correctly.
If you have any questions, feel free to PM me.
Thanks for looking,
CUE IS SOLD---PENDING PAYMENT---
Eric.

Nice oldie bump

Timi actually still makes cues himself. Is the cue 58 inches long. Did it come with the extension on the buttcap.
Thanks,
Nick :)

Are the spears at the top of each point original? It just doesnt look like something he would put in the cue. Nice cue though. Good luck with your sale.

I was only going off of what someone told me several years ago....that's why I put it away, thinking HE was not actually making any more.
I never measured the length.
I will and get back to you.
That butt cap is one of those gimmick-y limbsaver butt caps, that are supposed to cut down on the vibration of the cue and thus cut down on deflection.
All I know is that the cue always played great and this bumper protected the butt very well.
I may have mis-placed the original rubber. If so, I can get another, no biggie, I work right around the corner from Timmy's shop.

OF COURSE!
They are 100% original. You have to remember, this cue is over 20yrs old. If my memory is correct, I bought this in 1988. Like I said before, I am shocked that I haven't seen another cue like this because this was a "standard" cue he would/could make.
The picture brochure I am referring to:
He had a girl with dark hair posing in a bikini....it was 2 seperate pictures. 1 on the front side. 1 on the back of this brochure.
Someone has to have this and can post a picture.
Anyway, my cue, or one just like it, was pictured there.
Spears are oringinal.

Bump for a good guy who loves cues ....

Butch,
I miss you man.......where have you been?

Thanks for the kind words.

It's a very hard cue to find and it pains me to sell it, really it does.
This was my first REAL cue. There's nothing like your first, ya' know?

Don't be a stranger! Keep in touch!

Great looking cue at a awesome price. I own 3 TS cues and they all play jam up. If times were not so tough I would jump all over this cue to add to my collection. It would be a great investment for someone. Good luck with your sale it's a shame you can't keep this piece of art. Have a great weekend.

Thanks Butter

Thank you for the bump.

You couldn't be more right. I haven't played with a newer Scruggs, but I can tell you, all of the older Scruggs, mine included, play like a MONSTER! Timmy knows how to build a cue, that's for sure.

I have gotten a couple offers, but please keep 'em coming.

I know it's not a fancy as another TS for sale right now, but have you ever seen another like mine? I haven't, and I always thought my cue was a "standard" of that time.

So......bump for a rare Scruggs with spears.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Good Morning

Hello Eric,

Im lookiing forward to talking with you about this.

Thank You,
jwe

scruggs

hey finsup68, where do you play in baltimore??

These days I only play in the APA and play once a week.
That being said, the location changes from week to week.
If I go out to practice, I play at Top Hat, in Parkville, because they have bar boxes, which is what I like to practice on for APA.
Why......wanna, play?....or see the cue?

I guess, either way, let me know............

Never mind...

Oops, sorry didn't mean to post up twice.

Have a nice day.
