Time for Ask The Instructor section?

Ok, I think it's time for one, imo.
There's ask the Cuemaker and Talk to a Table Mechanic sections.
Why not ask the Instructor section?
Just make sure DCP is allowed one thread per day.:D

I think its a good idea. Often there is very poor advice offered in the main forum. Then the poster has to sort thru all the BS.

We have an "Ask the pros" forum, with 7 individual forums for each pro player. Why don't we see if we can recruit a few more, and then perhaps some known heavy hitters, create one general forum for question asking in that section, and any (or all) of the pros/top players can respond to questions there.

If a thread is started in the main forum, it is a free for all like it is now. If it is posted in the "Ask the pros" general section, the idea is for the pros to respond at will. A bank of 20 pros/known strong players who frequent the internet already might be enough to keep the forum really moving.

I may be wrong here, but it seems to me that the main point of this forum is to learn more about pool. I think that if you isolate the learning section, most posters that really learn something with it being here would miss it completely.

I agree...and part of the "fun" of being a member in any forum is figuring out who really knows what they are talking about, and who doesn't.

On a car board I visit, there is a poster who contributes heavily in the area of ignitions & electronics. Somebody called him out...as a retired NASA scientist who worked in that area. Once we learned he really was a rocket scientist...uh, we listen! :D

You beat me to it!

I joined here because I wanted to enhance my pitiful skills and learn more about the game's history, as well as the equipment and its makers. Thankfully, we have skilled instructors, avid historians, and noted cuemakers all willing to share information with anyone who asks. Unfortunately, ya gotta weed thru all the posts and threads from those who are compelled to prove how bad*ss they can be behind the anonymity of a keyboard. Anybody who can figure out how to gather up all that crap and divert it to its own stinkin' category gets all my rep.
I just think about any prospective pool enthusiast who finds their way here looking for good information, stumbles upon one of the stupid, immature low-class threads, and writes off the whole AZ forum as nothing but a bunch of pool low-lifes MFing each other. I just hope they don't notice the Sponsor Ads at the top of the page and write them off too, 'cause eventually we won't have a Forum to visit. And that would be a big loss. JMO
