I appreciate all of Stu’s insights into the game at many levels. I also appreciate that he stays away from all the petty B.S. on this site from those that think they know more than all the others here.

The site itself should recognize one person each year for outstanding positive contributions and I would personally vote for Stu as the first and most deserving award recipient.

Stu brings more intelligent and unbiased contributions in assessing the up to date state of this game than anyone else on this site.

what does he do?
I feel that we need to look at Stu not for what he “does” - he is not a player or a billiard sponsor- to me, Stu represents what this game has needed for all the years that it never could shake a bad “image” problem.

Stu , through his support, his frequent presence and his very intelligent and insightful commentary on this game helps to raise it to a level that — if everyone else associated with the game could follow his example over the many years— we would ALL be much happier with the state of the game in America today.

I’m certain STU will respond after he recovers from Pool Rehab! :)

All joking aside, STU is an excellent ambassador to our game, and we genuinely value all his insights.

I'm very flattered by this thread, but what I love about the forum is that there is no rank around here and we all contribute in our own special way. I am more than satisfied to be recognized as one of the many who offer significant content to the AZB forum.

Yes, I had a successful career, but I know I caught a few rolls in my corporate life that enabled me to retire at 50 and to live the life I now lead. I traveled to at least two pro events a year from 1976-2008. Ever since my retirement in 2008, I have traveled to nearly every US Open 9ball, Derby City Classic, and Mosconi Cup and have been to several International Opens and Turning Stone Classics.

When I first joined the forum in 2003, JAM was producing great trip reports from tournaments she attended that I really enjoyed. There is no question that it was her reports that motivated me to begin writing of my own experiences while attending pro events, and it is something I enjoy doing. My goal has always been to motivate others to attend pro events live and one of the joys I often experience is when I get to meet people who regularly read my trip reports and recognize me from my AZB avatar.

I am also very informed on the matter of pool politics and post regularly about how I feel certain situations and disputes will or might help or hurt the game.

After all is said and done, this thread is plenty enough recognition for me, and I thank everyone who posted for their kind words.

I enjoy reading Stu's trip reports and commonsense analysis of pool politics in today's world. Maybe AzBilliards can award SJM a banner or some logo underneath his AzBilliards Photo Profile. I'm trying to think of a good one. Maybe something like "AzBilliards Pool Savant," "AzBilliards Scribe," "Pool Archivist," or something witty.

For us virtual railbirds, it is a godsend to read about happenings behind the scenes. It's not easy to remember each and every detail and thereafter put them in words, but contributing them to this forum is creating a pool archives. Stu's contributions and words will, indeed, be a great resource for future pool enthusiasts. :)

for all he has done for the spirit and information of pool and its events. as well as a superb ambassador of the sport.
be it at the next derby or wherever it works. thanks stu.
I don’t believe a more enthusiastic or more knowledgeable fan and follower of professional pool (both men and women) exists who could possibly rival Stu.
