Time limit?

What is the official time limit to shoot in 3 cushion? I've gotten so many complaints about the time it takes me to shoot that we now use a stop watch. Any shot that takes over 30 seconds is a foul. It's ruining my concentration!

Super; In most of the European tournaments they set the shot clock at 50seconds.

USBA is the final research and official for United States 3 Cushion Billiard. Other than when two players match up, or Tournament Promotors/Director, decide.

How about in the U.S?
There is usually no clock. The timing system described in the UMB link above is complicated and requires someone to operate it. As Bill Smith mentioned, if something is implemented, it will be up to the tournament director. My choice would be a chess clock, since you don't need an official to be present.

30 seconds is much too fast IMHO... Although I am a fast shooter, I try to execute my shots in 20 to 30 seconds but often times it requires a bit more time. Every player has their own style, some fast, medium, slow... we played under a 50 second clock in NH (http://www.caromcorner.com/live.html) and i felt it was plenty of time. I have played in many tournaments across the country and only been on a shot clock a few times. These included both B and Open tournaments. Bob's right though... ultimately it's up to the tournament director but I think a suggestion of 50 seconds is quite fair!

Cheers,
Dru

Table size, shouldn't have any facture in time limit. Is that a Hollywood Table in your Avatar?

lol if anything i would need more time to analyze the kisses on a smaller table (tend to change slightly) so jack that time up!!

Haha I see. Glad to see that there are other slow shooters out there.

Yea, it's a hollywood gold plus. In Soo Park set it up about 4 or 5 years ago. Haven't used other table mechanics before but im really satisfied with his work.
