Time to get rid of the luck factor in Mosconi Cup.

Well...I did see Shane luck it two nine balls in the last two days.

Hit 'em hard and get lucky!

The best shot in the world is the luck shot!

.

At the very least, no 9 on the break.
If you want luck, then at least let it be a consequence of some attempted shot.
Not the balls crashing off of each other off the break. (Like there is any talent in having that happen)

Well...actually there is a skill to the nine ball on the break.

I have done it three times in a row on a couple different occasions.

Making the nine or making the one in the side...same difference.

Skill and luck. Some people are more lucky than others.

Yeah ok.
Keep fantasizing about that pipe dream.
Why aren't you on the mosconi cup team if you have such mastery of the 9 on the break?
How do you ever lose with a skill like that.

LOL

Nothing but clowns up in this joint.

I'll get a Magic Rack, give you 10 to 1 on your money, and you can have 20 breaks, to make 3 9 balls in a row. Skill, my ass.

Only gimmick to that is breaking from the spot and hoping that the back ball kicks off the bottom rail and blasts the 9 in one of the uptable corners, or slices it in one of the sides.
Hardly a skill though.

Only skill he might have is leaving a GAP behind the 9 when he racks for himself.
HAHAHAHAHA!

Or he didn't put the 9 in the middle. Either way, I'll offer him what I stated, and he can bust me all day long.

He also stated in a different post that he could tell what type of glue was used to put his cue tips on his cue, just by the feel of the cue. He must be the cue whisperer, because I've installed easily 1000 tips in my life, and I couldn't tell you the difference in hit between a Moori put on with epoxy, hide glue, contact cement, or gel superglue.

:sorry:

I said glue makes a difference in the hit.

If you don't know...then you don't know.

If they took the luck out of it then Europe would have won already. Corey got so lucky in his singles match today, more rolls in that one set then Euro got for the whole day.

I'd actually like to try race to 3, alt break, 9 ball luck, single elim events on the local level. $5 entry. Might get tons of entrants. And generate action after first round losses. I'd try it anyway if I was a room owner.

Great idea. Use this site that just launched http://vivianmarran.com/

Post the tournament, share the link, let people sign up and play. Easy.

I think it should be rack your own and 9 ball doesn't count on the break ! Race to 9 with a 20 second shot clock and it starts after the balls are racked !

Glue

Now that all the repairmen know that the substance between ferrule and tip makes for a different hit, which one should we use in order to make more balls per game?
LOL!!!!

To make more balls per game you need one of those special aiming systems.

My system works for me...hit 'em in the hole as seen on YouTube.

Race to 5 is clearly the most exciting format for this event.
But with that in mind, how about we address the short race format, and get rid of the slop.

I know both teams have benefitted from crapping in a ball here or there, but why not make it about precision instead of luck.

Come on man.
It's time to clean it up.

ps. Get rid of the 9 on the break as well. Lol

It's the way the game is played - the only cuesport that has ZERO luck involved
is Balkline Billiards - planning on attending many matches this year are we?

Its 9 ball, always was this way, always should be this way. Rolls come and go, the game remains the same. Inevitably whenever an event doesn't go how people want it to go this comes up. It's all in the game.

We lucked some balls in also but I said before and I'll say it again pros should be ashamed for playing Texas express 9 ball. they shouldn't be playing anything that doesn't require them to call shots. There will always be some luck involved in any game or sport but that's one that you can easily illuminate. Hell I don't allow 9 balls to count on the break in the small tournament I run and we're all armatures and everyone that plays is not only ok with it they remake it should always be like that.

Yeah with the 1 on the spot, magic rack, break from anywhere.

They tried the tragic rack in 2011... it went in the trash day 2... Accu-Rack just killed it at the US Open.... We won't be going away anytime soon and who knows next year after all the bad racks we may be at Mosconi as well...

There have been so many bad racks that it's past funny.. You can look but you cannot ask for a re-rack... So you know you are hosed but you hit em hard and hope??? Yeah that's the ticket....

Lots of pros are behind us so I think 2016 may be awesome!!!!!!

Not so bad for a little company that was started and took it's first breaths here on AZ... We are still that little company but everything we make can go to war with the big boys... Not just to compete... but To Win!!!
