Thanks for the heads up Duc. Are these better than the first batch that came over? I tried some of those and didn't think they were quite what I wanted. I'll give you a call and pick up a few more if they've gotten better.
 
The new Molavia soft is a very nice tip....high quality, no maintenance & hits soft. Of course Sniper & Everest are 2 of my favorites as well. Another option is the Hercules H2....its a med with an absolute SOFT hit.
 
I wanted to try out the Sniper tip, but was told by someone that they harden over time. So, I wanted to ask if this was true since so many people on here recommend them.

Also, what is the difference between these and the Tiger Laminated Medium tip?

I HAVE HAD THAT HAPPEN SEVERAL TIMES.......

THE SNIPER IS HARDER (IMO) AND HAS THINNER LAYERS. BETTER "POP" FROM THE SNIPER, BUT MORE "FEEL" FROM THE TIGER MED.

Thanks for the info. Just got some shafts that had the Super pros on there and they are as hard as a rock.

Too many dang tips to choose from...

Yeah, kinda makes you miss the days when you just put on a new champion or le pro for your playing cue and triangle for your break cue.
 
Sniper may be a softer hit than the Everest, but is slightly harder. As far as the Sniper getting hard after a while, this is true of all tips that have been on too long.

Hard tips are the only tips that can stay on for a long time without changing the orginal feel the player was originally looking for. All others get harder with time.

Tap! Tap! Tap! Glad to see that I am not the only one who has found these tips to be a great alternative to the currently available Moori's.

I have been trying to keep these to myself, but well, the cat is outta the bag now!! ;)

I have the Wizard mediums installed on all of my cues....via a hook-up from one of my favorite cue makers. :) One is on a cue that I have been playing with for coming up on a year now. I was a die-hard Moori fan up until I was turned on to these tips.

I will say that the Wizard mediums are pretty darn close to the Moori M's of old...perhaps a tad bit firmer. I have had absolutely no glazing of the tips, no mushrooming, and have only reshaped the older tip once in almost a year....and not because I had to, but because I wanted to change the profile a bit. They are not nearly as finicky as some of the other layered tips out there...and very durable. Will hold chalk for days! LoL...seriously....I can actually chalk up once at the beginning of a game, and not need to chalk again the entire game if I choose not to. And for me....last a good long time...and that is using it to break with as well...which it does a pretty darn good job of.

BTW....these tips are also a fraction of the cost of the Moori's and Kamui's...which is always a bonus. :D A cue maker local to me also uses these tips, and installs them for like $10 each...total cost, tip and install. That's pretty hard to beat, IMHO.

I use to use a moori med. Layers to hard to shape. A pro I know suggested LePro hard tip. No more problems and a lot cheaper!!!!!!!

Sniper tips are made of 11 layers of wild boar hide, everest tips are made of 11 layers of grade A+ pig skin, tiger laminated soft tips are made of 11 layers of cow hide, and the tiger laminated medium and hard tips are made of 11 layers of grade B pig skin.

As others have mentioned, all tips are going to harden over time. this is due to the compression factor that happens from repeatedly banging it against a large round piece of resin phenolic. this is why its common to compress some tips in a vice or c-clamp or something before installing them. it gets them to that compressed state quicker for more consistency as well as limits mushrooming.

Anyway, my cuemaker told me that the Flying Pig (whoever came up with that name) play very similar to the old Mooris.

THE FLYING PIG IS HARDER THAN EVEN THE MOORI HARD'S WERE. NICE PLAYING TIPS THOUGH FOR PLAYERS THAT LIKE A HARD TIP.

Just had a first session with a Blackjack hard tip.
It plays really nice, a bit harder then the Moori hard. Overall it's more similar to the Wizard hard tip but sounds better...
Holds its shape and chalk very well.
