A few years back, I got an order of Moori tips that were extremely difficult to get to hold glue and stay on a cue. I actually moved away from Moori tips for quite a while due to that reason.
Recently, I picked up a dozen Moori tips. I have installed 3 of them so far, and none stayed on. One popped off the ferrule the first time it was played, and the other popped off when I went to finish the tip shaping on the lathe. I took it off, recleaned/flattened the ferrule again, re-applied another Moori, and let it cure for double the normal time. It also came off.
Nothing else that I am using has changed. I use a top quality gel cyanoacrylic glue which has worked fantastic for me for years. I don't remember the last time I had a tip pop off other than these 3.
Any one had any similar experiences with Moori tips recently?
