Tips for your Home Billiard Room

Love it. Seems as if I need to move my table into the family room.

In fact it my table would then be crowded like the picture and most bars.
 
There is one rule in OUR room, it states that the family can have all the surround sound, media, video, foosball, bar, exotic decor etc. they want. JUST KEEP IT THE HELL AWAY FROM MY POOL TABLE.
 
Why would anyone, that really played pool, want to play in that POS room? Nothing like having a little room around the table. The kids can play foosball while your playing 9 ball. Sorry, that room, is a rec room for bangers that have way too much time on their hands.

Dude, this fellow is trying to sell electronics and installation services. Did you not notice the lack of space between the table and the couch ? They've got about 2' of space there ! This guys post is useless from a pool perspective.

Though some on here think I am an overpaid VCR repairman, I deal with the types of home automation in these setups, but on a larger scale.

Home automation is tha shiznit! For those who are into technology, you can set up hardware that can run security, lights, audio/video, heck.. even control curtains if you want...

I am seriously considering at the very least setting up a security camera, plasma TV, DVD player, and multimedia computer in my billiard room..

While some of those setups do look hideous from a pool player's perspective, this technology can be customized on a per user basis. I've dealt mostly with AMX and Crestron automation systems, but I heard there are a few other less expensive options out there.. X-10 is known as the "cheap" way to automate your home, but I've heard lots of good things about the products.
