So, I'll be in need of a new tip pretty soon, as the one that came on my stick (Lepro, I think) by default is nearly gone. In asking around and doing a tiny bit of research I think I want to try either the Talisman or the Sniper.

My question to you all is... what do you think and do you have other tip suggestions? Also, do's and don't with those tips - cube shaper, files, tip picks, etc?

I'm a 9-ball player primarily, if that makes any difference.

Looking forward the various responses...

Talisman plays close to a med' tip..

sniper plays soft..

I've played with almost every tip on the planet.

I don't like Talisman tip, never have.

I do like snipers, i feel they get lots of spin, but can feel softer then other medium tips out there (Morri M, Kamui M, Talisman M). So if you want lots of grab and like a medium or a little softer then that i'd go with a sniper.

But my favorite tip is Kamui M. I think Kamui tips play a little harder compared to others: Kamui M is harder then Morri M or Talisman M or Sniper. I like a harder hitting tip, but one that still grabs the ball like a champ.

The tip has a lot to do with personal preference. I like Kamui black M and my text tip I'm going to try out the Kamui black S.

i'm a big fan of talisman tips. i've had a couple of them fall apart on me but when you get a good one they play like a good lepro. i don't like sniper tips at all though. they really deaden the hit of a cue. it's like having a sponge for a tip

I dont' think there are any that compare to a Super Pro if you like a hard and cheap tip.

I used Snipers for years and recently decided to try the Emerald tip that they make and will never go back. It plays very similarly and holds chalk better, plus they cost around 3 bucks. Just my 2 cents.

I just tried a Kamui Black "M" tip and it is harder than I expected so I tried a Kamui Black "S" tip and it seems to suit me a little better. I've been playing with Moori II "Slow" tips for years (they are no longer available and the Moori III tips are not the same) and the Kamui Black "S" tip is close to the feel i've been used to.
