There were millions made probably so it's quite likely that there are caches of them in places no one would think of.

Ever watch American Pickers? They come across people with warehouses full of old stuff, mountains of it.

I know a cue maker that has a room FULL of these cues including two-piece versions all in brand new mint condition.

Are they affordable? I know that is a very broad term...to each his own. I would like to own a conversion....How much are they?
