Yes don'y I wish. I have looked into really finding out how I really contracted this. I was in the hospital last year from Aug 1st to Sept 5th They think I picked it up then. So do I go after the hospital I was in for all that time. I think it would be impossible to prove and cost me out the ass to fight that. So it will cost me what ever my Ins will not cover. Oh well they cannot get blood from a turnip.

I wish you a speedy recovery Chris. With regards to legal action, you are right, it would be pretty much impossible to prove your case. The problem is that 1-3% of the general healthy population are carriers of MRSA on their skin and nasal secretions etc. They are not sick, just carriers. But that means that probably on a daily basis you are coming into close contact with at least one person who is a carrier. Given those statistics you would be hard-pressed to convince a judge/jury that in the year since you were in the hospital you didn't pick up the bug from somewhere other than that hospital. Even though you very possibly picked it up in hospital, the burden of proof would be on you, and the hospital could just present the carrier statistics in court and probably get off.

Thankfully MRSA isn't resistant to EVERY antibiotic (yet). In most cases the treatment course is uneventful with complete recovery. It's just a huge hassle to have to get so many IV treatments for so long. Hopefully they will get that PICC line in and arrange outpatient antibiotics with a pump at home.

This message goes out to all of my friends on the AZ billiards forum. My cultures from my wounds came back. I found I'm battling a MRSA infection. This is the scariest thing I have ever faced. I go to the infusion center today to have a pic line put in. I'm starting IV antibiotics today I have to do this for a min of 8 weeks. If my friends could pray for me and keep me in their thoughts anything will help. I will keep you all updated with my progress. Thanks again.
