Hearing on the radio how Foxwoods casino put in a new bowling and billiard lounge, figure would be a great place, lots of action, good equipment. Just went online to check it out. They have a total of FOUR frikin pool tables in the place. Camel cloth. Which will be soaked in spilled drinks within a week and probably never replaced during the life of the tables. Life as a pool player continues to suck.

"The 35,000 square-foot venue, with an innovative menu and two full-service bars, features a capacity of 1,000; 20 bowling lanes including six VIP lanes; four professional billiard tables; two-level lounge with a piano and 50-seat marble bar; more than 60 big-screen high-definition televisions; and three private rooms that can accommodate 20 to 100 guests, as well as function space for up to 800 guests."

hey look at the up side they are 8' tables. lol

I'm not sure what Foxwood's is clueless about. It is apparent from the description of the place that it is not intended to be a pool room. If anything, it is a bowling alley or a sports bar. In fact, it's called "High Rollers Luxury Lanes and Lounge" with no mention of pool at all in the title.

Here's a link:

At least they have 4 pool tables on the property that they didn't have before. And they appear to be GC5's.

Wow.

Why is it that In these times with all the pool halls that are closing when something new comes along all we can do is B%*€! about it?

If something like this was to open near me I for one wouldn't complain I would go check it out. And enjoy it for what it is a semi luxurious lounge that I happen to be able to play pool in. At the FOXWOODS Casino. (not Foxwoods poolhall)

Just my .02

P.S. Enjoy playing on those gold crown V's. While I am stuck playing on 1940's sport kings that had more people on them than the grateful dead tour.

I am positive that I can drive 3 hours or more in any direction from where I live and not be able to play on a GOLD CROWN V!

That would be something to b$/?! About.

P.S. P.S. I like the Arthur cue in your avatar.!!!

For the biggest casino in America to boast only 4 tables seems pitiful to me. ...but then again, it's a start.

A bar in a casino with pool tables is great news!, I hope other's follow suit, should be able to make good scores from time to time, maybe even have someone run a small weekly tournament on the weekends.
