to joe tucker

I would go one step further from Neils comment that very few people actually see this, which is an excellent point, I can't think of one other person who has seen this video.

For me after watching Joe's video the main thing I took away was he was letting people in on how not to get cheated by bad racks and how to turn the tables when someone tries to give you bad racks.

I think the main point is you still have to out shoot me to win, I see Joe's video more along the lines of protecting a person from some peoples urge to manipulate the game in a way that has nothing to do with skill.

i have not changed my thoughts on the dvd.
but i would like to say that i know joe is a good guy.
sorry joe for going off on you as a person.

In my case, there isn't a session I play where Joe's lesson's don't help. Reading the rack, preventing a stroke correction, aiming at tuff shots...Joe has been a positive influence on my game in many ways. He has always been kind to me and he is truly generous and hard working. I am glad to see you show him respect as a person.

nice to see one guy man up and appoogize and another man be big enough to accept it without being a jackass. rep to both of you guys. and i don't care how many secrets get shared with me, unless i play ten more hours a day (already playing three to four) i am not kicking any one's ass

As Matt 24 said.. there are lots of books & lots of infformation available. Will the availability become an oppurtunity or a missed oppurtunity?

If all the posters on AZ read all the good books, watched all the DVDs & applied their newly acquired skills & knowledge, it might be hazardous to one's pocket book, to gamble with anyone they don't know...

There is a mountain of information available, but there will always be the kind of people that can't see the oppurtunity...

Joe Tucker has been a great help to lots of players, myself included. He will surely be remembered as a great Teacher-Instructor-Coach in the sport of Pocket Billiards.

So I haven't seen or talked to Joe for awhile when I sent him a PM about...well nothing. We shot the breeze for a little while back and forth. Then I cam up with the idea to check out his web site. So I did. He has these neat free video's with practice drills. And for the heck of it, I tried a few and....
I really haven't played very well for over 5 years for a variety of reasons. I had dropped maybe to a low c. So the first time I go and play is in the APA 9 ball league. Holy crap....I started out running two racks and a half of another...and I played about as well as I have played in years. Earned 3 break and run patches in that match (I am 7 in both 8 & 9 (and IMHO overrated in both)).

I truly believe that practicing (I did over two nights) some of the drills on Joes site got me 1. aiming correctly 2. stroking properly 3. correctly using english.

If you have a chance to have private lessons with Joe I would highly recommend it. If you can't do that you would be well served by picking up his dvd's or by all means taking advantage of the free video's.

Speaking of books I enjoyed reading yours quite a bit:)

I know one person who owns the "Racking Secrets" video. It didn't turn him into a world-beater. Hell, it didn't even turn him into a chilli66-beater!

Kudos to Chris for his apology though, nice one. And to Joe for taking it well.

I suspect all Chris' complaint did was bring Joe a whole slew of orders.

"Hi I'm a professional pool player and I want to complain about Joe's DVDs. They give away too many secrets! And they're really inexpensive, too."

Hmm... the result is fairly predictable to that one.

I already bought Joe's stuff long ago. Great stuff.

What can I say about joe tucker, from my experience he is a great instructor, of course a great player but overall an ambassorder of the game a person that wants to open the game up to as many people as he can. He held a class in a local hall where he taught 20 people and offered to come back to help me and another player with more advanced stuff and didn't expect a dime. So next time i run into joe beers on me!!

didnt know he had a book.
like joe said you still have to play.
so read watch by all the dvds and lets play.lol

If I was in your shoes Chris, I'd welcome all the info being sold. There will always be someone out there who watches the DVD, practices all the stuff, learns it all to a T, and then thinks they have a chance. Even if they play better than average pool. Hell, at home, or the pool room they play in, they may run racks like a monster. But put them in a match with a seasoned player, someone like you, with the nerve and killer instinct to get the cash. THEY GOT NO PRAYER. Even if they get a gear and win, I like your end the next time. I'm not saying this won't help some young champ become a better platyer than everyone else in the world, but it will definitely help create more players, and more action.
Just my opinion.
