If you advertise a cue show as taking place on Saturday AND Sunday, you should make sure that cue builders and vendors are there on Saturday AND Sunday. I am not generally a complainer, but I was very disappointed to go to the show today only to find (almost) no one and nothing there. I was forced to miss the last two shows because of work and was really looking forward to seeing the distinguished builders listed on the ad and their cues. Fool me once … You won't get a chance to do it again.

Rather than merely complain, how would you suggest this be enforced? I believe these shows are organized as a labor of love and not for profit, so I don't think anyone meant to fool you in any way.
Some things are out of the organizers' hands. From what I've heard, the organizers did a great job- again.
If you have a complaint, it sounds like it should be directed to whoever didn't show the second day. Maybe you should PM or email them to share your disappointment and let them know what they missed by not showing up the second day. That may be more effective and possibly more gratifying, too.

As someone who ran a convention center and hotel meeting space, I can tell you first hand that the promoters can book & sell space to every booth available, but they can't control who shows or leaves early. I've seen many shows have a laundry list of vendors and half show.

Worse yet no show make then show or stay. If they pay for a booth its there's show or no-show. Email or write the vendors/makers you have a sore spot with, you may get somewhere, but the promoters can't control whether they stay for all days or not.

Not sure if it would apply...but the local craft show organizer was having similar issues. Since space was highly sought after, a contract was drawn that specifies that vendors must stay the duration of the event. A violation, at the very least meant no entry in the following year's event. No show space is given away as first come, first serve. Since implementing the contract...vendor attendance is at capacity for the entire event.

Cue Show

HomerB,
Thank you for the feedback and I do apologize. I absolutely agree with you and it was definitely a subject brought up this weekend. Unfortunately, the advertising was set for Sat & Sun but we didn't have any control over the vendors schedule. As Beau said, the show is run entirely NON~PROFIT. We, the event coordinators, even pay for our table space along with the guest vendors/dealers. A lot of the guys came up from LA and had to get back on the road early. I'm very grateful to Rich Chudy, Jerry McWorter, Kent Davis, Riley Pitchford, and Victor Lee for sticking it out and hanging around on Sunday.

Every show has been a learning experience and we've been working hard to do the best we can. In the past, the show has been a one day event. I think that's the best format and if it all comes together again for another show it will just be a one day event.

We are always open to suggestions, ideas, and feedback.

2nd day

Yes, the past 3 shows were one day events.

When we were coordinating with California Billiards for them to host the show they generously offered us table space for a 2nd day at no extra cost for anyone that wanted to stay on Sunday. Unfortunately, it wasn't written that way on the posters/flyers so there was definitely some confusion. In hindsight, it should have been advertised as a Saturday only event and left Sunday open as a non~advertised option to those who wanted to display stuff another day.

Rex,

For some reason I was convinced the show was only saturday. Sunday would be the follow up for the tournament...
I would have stayed there... I misunderstood as well...
Sorry my friend.

For the past 3 years our West Coast Cue Show been doing 1 DAYshow only. As per this weekend the room ower Chris let us have an option to have our show for the 2nd day also if anyone want to stay for the 2nd day. I was there today until after 2pm. I did not see you HomerB. What time did you show up?

ARE YOU KIDDING ME:angry::angry::angry:
As clear as water. You and I know that 2nd day was an option.
How can that be ?

Before we all going to dinner, I did ask Tony "Guerra" if he was coming back on sunday while he was on a somke break outside the parking lot he said "NO" got things to do.

I was confused then Joey... My bad... I thought he was asking just because of the tournament...

CONFUSE?????? REALLY??????:angry::angry::angry:

Kenny,
Like I said I did not realize there was a second day. Many times there are tournaments with 2 days like this one and I was convinced that you guys were just asking if I was going to come back tomorrow (today). Do you really think I was not going back if the show was 2 days? I called Rex already about it. Honestly I did not know that there was a 2nd day option for the show, I would have love to come back... Really Kenny!

Two day show

Well, I was only there for Saturday and would like to make a special thank you
to the organizers. They were gracious, helpful and made my wife and I feel
welcome. My wife has her chemo treatment on Monday mornings so I felt I
could not make the 7 hour drive on Sunday night after the show closed.
With that said: thank you all who showed up--both exhibitors and guests.
Hope to see you again next year.

Bob-

It was a pleasure to meet you at the show and check out the purpleheart collection you had there. We look forward to seeing you again next year.
