Terry Ardeno said:Yes, he was born on August 26, 1954.
Can you guys imagine if Efren Reyes posted here on AZB? Regularly? With his gambling stories, behind the scenes happenings, i.e., "Leonardo Andam makes great spaghetti and meatballs", his views on facing Earl Strickland (I'll let jimmyleggs fill in the blanks on that one) and just ordinary shop talk? Wow!
I think Efren knows how loved and appreciated he is, and by people in a host of countries. He's one of the lucky ones who get to feel the love while they're still alive. A generation or so from now, can you imagine how his legacy will be remembered? Double wow!
Havoc, here's hoping you have a wonderful day and a great year ahead.
And happy birthday and best wishes to Bata as well.
crosseyedjoe said:Something interesting about Ricky Aragon, the guy who made the Filipino Nineball Short Film.
"Before migrating to Australia, Edd bequeathed his special "de roscas"
cue stick to Ricky, who then went on to amaze the family with his
increasing prowess. He can actually join the international pool
circuit, Edd says of his kid bro. But what really turns on the young
man is filmmaking. If it's any indication of his other talent, Ricky
is said to have beaten Bata Reyes in a few games. And those weren't
for the Nineball video film, either.
We believe Edd's claim. In fact there's video documentation of an
upset win over Efren Reyes, except that Ricky had to take it down from
cyberspace for fear that his friend Bata might get annoyed, maybe over
the possibility that it was just being used as a promotional tool for
the indie film. Or because it happened in real life, and in real time,
too?" Edd Aragon's Blog (Rick big bro)
Scary isn't? Some guy who's not in a tour or league can beat Efren.
I beieve that Efren and Django will be proceeding to USA for the US Open after playing in the World Cup of Pool in Netherland.f210 said:Happy b-day Efren and may you have many more to come!!!
BTW, does anybody know if he is participating in the upcoming US Open?
No need to worry, both Efren and Django are IT challenged, that`s why I surf the net for them on news like the latest on the IPT.crosseyedjoe said:I don't think we want the Efren to get addicted with the Internet. You know what is out there, and we need him playing.
Maligayang Kaarawan!!!
I agree with everything you said here Fatboy. You spoke my mindFatboy said:I like everything about him as a professional athlete he has been the least compensated and honestly I dont think he cares about $$, he puts playing any billiard sport to his best infront of $$$. This is my opinion and I think that has helped his game too. More Pro and even regular players can learn from him-not about pool but his attitude and demenior.
he is a hero 100%.
