In case any of the Forum members personally know a pro pool player named Tommy Hill, he successfully underwent very complex stomach surgery this morning at Clovis Community Hospital.
The surgeon said he'd have a full recovery but would be hurting and feeling sore for awhile. Please keep him in your prayers ......he's just a terrific person. and is one of my closest friends.

p.s. Mark K........ I told Tommy I'd test his new cue while he's recovering but that had zero appeal; it's a gorgeous cue and was actually my pick for Cue of the Year.

Thanks Joe and if I know Tommy, he's going to grin and bear the discomfort so he can play pool with that new cue even it meant taking a extra pain med.
I'm predicting that Tommy will be back on his feet shooting pool sooner than most mortals would after surgery and his new cue will be a major reason why.

Tommy was released today from the hospital and he's at home recovering........but that gorgeous placebo was awaiting him when he arrived home........Wow......what a stunning looking pool cue........Hubba Hubba Hubba........Mark....Joe......you shipped him the best medicine imaginable........I betcha he's hitting pools balls by Monday, if not this weekend, to test his new cue........a fabulous reason to get healthy fast.

Joe......Mark.......I've been coaching Tommy's youngest son, TJ (Tommy Jr.) in pool. Obviously, Tommy can teach him everything he needs to know about the game of pool.
However, teaching your own kids....anything..... can sometimes become a challenge. So yesterday I see TJ at the pool hall and Tommy is at home recovering, Naturally, we
talk about how his dad is faring during recovery.....blah, blah, blah....and I mention that Tommy will be hitting balls with that wonderful new cue by Monday or Tuesday at the latest.

Silly me......TJ tells me after he came home from the hospital, later that day when TJ checked to see how he was doing, TJ said he found his dad resting in bed asleep and that
darling new cue butt was laying by his side in bed. That was Thursday afternoon and Tommy's surgery was complicated but the doctor had told him he had to have it.

Anyway, you get the picture....this big palooka of a guy......Tommy used to also play professional baseball and was a pitcher for the Boston Red Sox. Unfortunately, an arm injury
cut his career short and he never was called up to the big show. Tommy pushes himself in everything he attempts and so you know this surgery was just another of life's challenges
he was going to meet head on.

Well, TJ told me Tommy propped himself up on his pool table at home on Friday morning, clamored out "Where's my new cue?" and proceeded to hit a couple of shots before he near
fainted from the pain. I'm not kidding you......this great cue you sent him has been the world's best placebo.......I bet Tommy is back kicking my tail again on the table within 2 weeks.
The man seems indestructible........and if you want to better appreciate the significance of what I wrote, take a look at the photos of Tommy.

Thanks guys for the kind words about Tommy.
