Top 10 9 ball and 1 pocket players in Texas

Are you SURE that all you guys are from Texas????

The reason I ask is that C.J. Wiley's name has not been mentioned yet. If he laid down his cue, lost an eye and an arm, became an alcoholic, and spent 6 years in prison without ever playing - he would STILL be one of the best players in Texas (if not the U.S.).

I watched him at DCC this year and he didn't miss a single ball in about an hour (still lost the match, though, to George Breedlove).

Ok, ok! I erase my list altogether. Robin and CJ are on there.
Just joking with ya. I made my list of players who are active or at least support the game in Texas.
Now I'll add Jr, Norris.

BJ,
Ooops. I didn't see it, my apologies to you.

In fairness to the rest of you listing players none of us have heard of; I have heard from a road player that Houston is one of the 2 cities in the U.S. with more good players than anywhere else. There must be some real world beaters there if C.J. doesn't show up on the list.

Texas ( Houston) ain't what it used to be, but there are some good players there.
I thought it was a little strange, but Texas consists of about 250 million acres, and three cities which are listed in the top ten most populated cities in the U S and still only 2 representatives at the IPT. JJ and Hilbilly.

And apparantly Billy Incardona as well.

Dam, I stand corrected again. Just has not been my day.

Ironman, does Bob Vanover still play? Is he still alive? At one time, I'd have to think that he was one of the best. I also thought for some reason that Wade Crane might have originally come from Texas, but i'm not sure about this.

Yes sir, Bob is alive and kicking. Still plays pretty good.
Bob lives in the Dallas area and at one time, I agree, played the game of 9-ball about as well as any of them. He doesn't get out as much as he used to though.
As faar as Wade goes, I always thought he was from the Carolina,s, but I could be wrong.

While i'm here too, I just thought of a couple more who play pretty darn well.
Dick Lane and Paul Gurnsey.

LIZARD?

Is Steve Smith?

I'm not sure I know who that is.

Also, just for those who are curious...

Joey Barnes is giving Billy Incardona 9-8 last I heard...

Jack Hynes is the real deal playing nine rocket. Here is a partial list of his victims playing even nine ball for the chedder

1. Dennis Hatch
2. Rob Saez
3. Paul Potier
4. Morro
5. T-rex
6. Nick Varner
7. Danny Green (giving weight)
8. Jerry Slivka (giving weight)
9. Charlie Brinson (giving weight)
10. Scott Frost

He can dab'em when he is hitting them 7 and 8 packs are not uncommon. He is a true roadie has no desire to be known and he has been kicked out of almost every tournament in history. In my mind the greatest shotmaker alive.

cj is THE best player in texas. would beat JJ and Hillbilly in any game. he just shoots and shoots and never misses. joey barnes is probably the best road player, well him, david g and john drew. they just have so much heart and play hard for the cash.

Yeah Joey is giving Billy 9-8, and usually winning. Billy pretty much lives in the Rack Daddys off of Skillman in North Dallas. Lots of big action there. Bastrop Sr just won the Texas nine-ball open in Austin last weekend.

How is John Drew hitting the balls now? Heard he had a gland in his throat acting up or something. Caused his dominant eye to go lazy. I was told he wasnt playing much anymore, but that was a few months back.
