noRulez said:Let's face it: the average person here is going to dog his/her guts out playing for that much cash realizing they're playing in front of that many people (most of which don't want you to win if you're cubc). It is a rare breed that can fade that kind of pressure. I have a lot of respect for both of these players to come out and do this.
CubC and OMGWTF both get two thumbs up from me.
Come on Vette, baby, don't we all talk a little to get action. Let's see.... I picture you being down one set for $100 and coming out with, "Just so happens that I have a tee time tomorrow at noon. You play golf too? You gotta give a guy a shot back at his cheese. Right?"corvette1340 said:For all the people that are saying cubc is taking an unfair beating, did you even follow the threads and happenings leading up to the match? He had been talking trash for months about how he was stealing and about how he was gonna spend her money on a new table and what not. Sure he posted his own money and flew out there, blah blah. HE THOUGHT HE WAS STEALING! If I think I'm stealing in a match then you can rest assured I'm looking to bet as much as the other party can muster. He had to know that if he was gonna talk that much trash in the lead up to the match that he was gonna catch some heat if he lost, and rightly so. Conversely, if he had won then you can bet that he would have already started a couple of threads on it.
Yeah, I'd go with "a little outta line" on some of that. But, we don't know what context these things were said. Joking? Not for me to judge. I just know I have said some pretty raw sh%$ in the heat of battle. Hey, for three grand, he can say whatever he wants to me in an eight ahead set.Hierovision said:crawfish somehow I don't think you read the worst of what he said. I think the original post is more than enough IMO... did you read it?
corvette1340 said:for the amount he lost he could have prepaid 10 sessions.
Come on back CUBC. You showed some balls and heart to do what you did. Really impress us by coming back on here and just writing that loss off. It's just business.Fatboy said:Pre paid sessions LOLOLOL, there are some places in the world you would get a life time membership for that $$$$.
WTF chick aint like that anyways,
is this guy ever gonna post here again???

No, of course not. Not without taking a shot or two. Could he have been joking? Come on, he couldn't have been serious, huh?av84fun said:Could he say that he wanted to eat your wife or girlfriend? If so, you must not respect her very much.

Johnnyt said:I agree with the ones that said not many on here have played a match for $3000 of their OWN money. Not even pros do?most have a banker and put 00000$ up themselves. Some on here said 80% of the people on here never played for that much of their own money. I say probably more like 98% haven't. I'm not talking about the few on here that are millionaires?that's just a $50 dollar bet to them. So I give them both a lot of credit for putting up their own.
I can't remember ever playing for more than $200 or $300 on a pool table in my fifty years of gambling. I haven't played for fun since I was about 12 years old. I did play a game of Three Cushion for $1300 once (around 1966, so that?s about $3000 now) when I thought I had the dead nuts. I didn't but that's another story. I wasn't very nervous, but that was probably because I thought I had the best of it.
As far as playing on the Internet, I don't know how that feels. I know I taped "How to start an IV" for a hospital I worked at with about 200 people watching live and knowing hundreds more would be seeing it later for training and it made me VERY nervous.
BUT...he knew he was betting $3000. He knew he was playing a girl. He knew a good percentage would be rooting against him. He knew he was going to be showcased on TAR and the Internet. He was the one that talked trash. Sorry, I feel he got what was coming to him. Johnnyt
