Barbara, the bag of nuts is actually one of the first things she thought about after she won. She was very excited about getting those. I am a little jealous because everyone that has had them claims they are awesome. I look forward to trying those one day. Maybe the next DCC I will be lucky enough.

That is too funny!! She told me the same thing. She said that after she won she told her BF that I would be sending her a bag of nuts and that her BF loves them.

Sorry, I don't go to the DCC. And this year's VF SBE was the first time I had to beg off work to hedge my vacay time in years.

On a side note, I would have thought Cubc would have posted something by now. Nothing since he left?

The funniest thing I heard anyone say about this match was during the commentary in the booth, when a few people joined in with Deadpoked and someone who didn't know the the story behind the match asked why they were playing each other and someone, I think Deadpoked, said it was a grudge match. And the guy asking said, "What did he do? Hit on her?"

Classic! lol

I happened to run into Justin in the hall, right outside the TAR room, while the match was going on. I introduced myself as we had never really met. He said the match was going on, and it was kinda funny to me, he also said this was about the biggest action of the week. All these champions running around and 2 amateur players betting more than anyone. HA HA!!!!!! I watched a couple of minutes and went back to watch the masters team final.

I did not get a chance to see the match, but it seems to me that Cubc severely underestimated the difference between running balls while practicing, or even playing competitively but with nothing on the line, and playing for money and reputation.

Big, big, big difference between the two.

It was an 8-ahead match. TAR will be putting the video up on the website to view free of charge if they haven't already.

By the way, he was talking smack before they even got under way, but Melinda remained a class act.

As for his remarks about "her wanting him", I saw Cubc and I saw her boyfriend. There is no way she would cheat on her man with that dude.

It was an 8 ahead match. I think Cubc underestimated her break. It looked to me that they might have had an agreement to put the 7 ball behind the one and not the wing ball.

I have always told Melinda that she could be my designated breaker anytime.

The stuff about her wanting him to snuggle with her has to be imaginary in his head. The guy looks just like George Costanza from Seinfield. Hes not making too many friends here either as I happen to know some people he was playing on a APA 9 ball team with. Doug and Tim are both rated 9's and hard to play them under the handicap system so they didn't play enough to qualify instead they qualifed Cubc because he was a 6. Then after the team qualified to play in the city tourny for the Vegas trip he up and quit the team because they wouldn't kick someone off the team and add his little girlfriend. So the team had to go to the cities with only having 4 qualified players. His x-teammates are not too happy with him to say the very least. I'm glad Melinda whipped him good now he can go back to his big pocket table in his apt. with his little doggie.:D

I was sweating the end of the match of with a group of people and Ronnie Wiseman was one of them. He asked what was going on. After hearing the whole story and the amount of the bet he says:

"You are telling me that these 2 are playing for $3000 because of woofing on the internet? I will give you $200 apiece for their email addresses right now."

:D

Cubc is only a 6 in APA 9-ball? That explains it.:p

From the video he posted of himself playing and the way he was talking I figured he would easily be a 9. In fact, one of the better 9's.

cubc did say those things in another forum's chat room - the one's with a time stamp on it anyway.

i think we can all agree that cubc's "way with words" is what put him in the 8 ahead, 3K, wild 7 match-up in the first place.

i don't think we're kicking him when he's down - it's just some friendly ribbing. ;)

For an APA 6 to run 3 racks, thats a good 6! Our 6s here dont run like that.

My only question is who is next for OMG? She's the "action challenge" winner, so who are the candidates for the next match?

LOL - don't you know the internet is the new pool room???

That's hilarious - I can see Ronnie's face as he says it too.
