First of all Scott frost has never beaten Corey Deuel and Scott and Cliff are considered the best americans so Corey should be at the top of every list...

3.Scott Frost
4.Tony Chohan
5.Gabe Owen
6.John Schmidt
7.Danny Harriman

This is a current list for the money no legends.......These guys can still get in there and mix it up for the cash......................

This is a good list.

Is Haddad hitting the balls that good these days? There was probobly 10 guys better than him in Northern California a couple of years ago.
I haven't seen anyone mention Louis Ulrich yet, he's been taking down all kinds of tournaments lately.

Belay my last, didn't realize we were talking top 10 1P players.

I like this list too, seems like Parica would have to be there, maybe it should have been top 11

Tony Chohan is playing Shannon in an all around challenge, and most are making him the favorite! He may be mad that he did not even make your list! :)

I agree with this list.

Billy Palmer goes to # 5 everyone else moves down except Shannon Walden goes out he is top 20 but not top 10. Thinking about it let me rearrange.

1. Cliffo (no doubt a ball better than the other Americans)
2. Corey (For the cash. Every time I think he doesn't know the game he pulls some Efren like shot)
3. Scott Frost (Plays the score and takes fouls better then anyone old school if he banked a lil straighter he could move to numero uno)
4. T-Rex (On any given day he plays lights out in five years he will be the best 1pkt player in the US)
5. John Schmidt (For the cash I like his game make no mistake John can play)
6. Billy Palmer (Maybe the best tournament player in the world besides you know who)
7. Double J (Why do people underrate his 1pkt game? His got shots and moves in his bag that Jersey Red didn't share with many. If he gets his desire back he can battle Corey and the Freezer for # 2)
8. Shannon D (He doesn't practice like he used to but where is his game weak? It isn't plus he is fearless)
9. Gabe (Great guy solid 1 hole game I just can't think of him beating any serious 1 holer)
10. Danny Harriman (What game doesn't he play well? He may out bank and shot anyone and he doesn't quit no matter what the score)

good luck

OHH REALLLY.....Corey has beaten Scott every time for the money and Scott don't even ask him to play anymore because he know he can't win..........

I think James Walden is one of the top one pocket players in the country. All of these guys play strong.

Not true Frost made a statment on the microphone at the derby ANYONE THERE EXEPT EFRE ANYONE Corey was standing right there i think Corey was better at one point but know Scott is on top Corey knows that.
On the other hand Scott wants none of Corey in 9Ball. Everyone has there game and 1-pocket is Scotts game.

1 Pocket mix

You have a pretty good list there, but I would have ordered 2-3 players differently. I wouldn't have put Corey 2nd, as he makes some real nice shots, but I think his consistency pulls him down a little.

Not familiar with John's 1 pocket game. Didn't know he played 1 pocket that well. I do think Gabe should be a couple of notches higher.

And I have a question, After Gabe beat Francisco in the 6th round, why did Francisco get to play in the 7th round?

And did you notice that Shannon beat Cliff in the 7th round?

Yes, Waldon plays good 1 pocket too, but Gabe is better at 1 pocket than James is, IMO. At least, Gabe won more often than James in the Midwest 9 ball 1 pocket tournaments held here. Danny has played in them before too.

HE DEFINITELY DIDNT MEAN IT................COREY HAS SNAPPED HIM OFF EVERYTIME THEY HAVE BET BIG...COREY IS SCOTTS KRYPTONITE JUST ASK HIM

I know that Dave Gross and Mark Haddad are pretty good 1P players out here in Colorado. Don't know how they compare to the top 10, but I think they have both placed high in tournaments before.

Dave Gross is on the board. His screen name is 12squared.

You have lost your mind are you saying players cant surpase other players when was the last time they played for the cash and be honest because scott has been in action for the last 6 to 7 monthes and it has not been with corey. He deffinetly was not kidding he has the cheese im not a big Frost or Duel fan did you not see the part where i said corey would beat hin in 9- ball hell probably 10-ball and banks but NOT 1-POCKET sounds like you are a huge Corey Duel fan its ok things change people get better get over it.

For my list, I did two things.
First, I took into consideration cue skills, shotmaking, knowledge of the games moves & strategies, heart, tournament showings and money matches.
Seconds, I would give each player 1 month to get in stroke. In other words, guys like Daulton who does not practice like he used to, I believe still has oodles of talent. But 1 month to get in stroke will not turn back the clock for greats like Grady, whose best days were the 1980's.
So, I came up with this list.....
1. Cliff Joyner
2. Shannon Daulton
3. Corey Deuel
4. Tony Chohan
5. Jeremy Jones
6. Scott Frost
7. Danny Harriman
8. John Schmidt
9. Gabe Owen
10. Allen Hopkins

The last three were hard for me. Also, Shawn Putnam, Billy Incardona & Jose Parica deserve recognition also. Billy, for his unbelieveable longevity and heart, Jose for the wealth of knowledge and Shawn, who has had consistantly good finishes at the DCC 1 pocket events.

These are fun to do, these lists.

I like this list too.

Seems like there is alot of differences in the 6-10 ranking between all of us
