Total Pool Cue Costs

Hey everybody - I spent the better portion of an hour writing down all the different pool cues I want to buy in the future, and my total across 22 cues was $12,830.53

How much have you guys spent through the years on pool cues?

Side note: I really want to start working so I can buy my first cue =(
 
Roughly 2k on cues/cases. I like playing first and foremost and plus I feel like shooting with multiple cues will mess with my OCD. I don't need another excuse why I was shooting bad or why I should be using this cue. Heck, I have trouble choosing between tips.

Lets see, my first custom cue $500 was a great cue. Plain Jane player. Probably the best cue I have ever owned. Stolen.

2nd cue was a Jacoby, plain Jane player, bought for $400. Shot stiff and didn't like it. So I traded it.

Traded it for a production cue that was ebony and ivory. This is where I was introduced to ivory joints. Different feel and didn't like it very much. Stolen.

Finally bought another cue for $600 and has been my shooter since. Wood joints and great player.

I am basically out 1.5k and not including cost of other items such as cases and what not.

Not that bad considering my total cost is what some people play with on the regular.

I like to keep it this way even though I am planning on getting a cue build. I think I am at the best price range where I am getting the best bang for my buck.

Anything over 1k and up, there is small differences and they are aesthetics. I am pretty much at a price range where the cue I am getting is fantastic and not cheap where it shoots like crap.

rather buy a motorcycle than have a bunch of cues :)
 
Ive spent $500 on chalk in the past 4 months. I only have 6 pieces in my possession now. I give most of it away to other players. I guestimate $3000 on cues in the past 12 years.
 
1976 I was given my first cue, an Adam. 1980 I bought a Palmer for $160. Sold it soon later for $140. Didn't like the way it played. 1981 bought a Tim Scruggs for $100 and a Meucci for $80. still have the Scruggs and Adam. Gave the Meucci away. 2009 decided to try my hand at building a cue. I thought i needed something longer than my TS. and am to cheap to pay for a custom. $20,000 later I have a decent 60" cue. So I guess in the last 40 years I am $20,200 into the three cues I own.

Almost 2900 in the last year that I started buying cues. This year will be much slower, found my dream cue already, slowly gifting my other ones

Im glad you thought you needed a longer cue. I know that I have benefited from it, but I know it hurt when you went in the hole like that.
 
I'd estimate I've spent probably close to $1500.00 on cues. I've been pretty happy with the ones I've had for years at a time and have only slightly upped my spending each time on a new one.

That's how I feel lol but I will say playing for past 3 years I've spent about 3-3500 on trying new things most of which I got back re selling but its a hobby they all cost :thumbup:
 
Spent about $2,500 on a few cues before I spent roughly $10k on my own shop so that I could make my own, exactly how I want them.

So I guess $12,500 total. :)
