One of my favorite things about AZ Billiards is looking at all the different tournaments from across the country and then checking back after the tournament is over to get the results.

One of things that enrages me more than stubbing my toe is when people use the Tournaments Forum FOR FREE to promote their tournaments for weeks and months and then don't follow up with results.

This is our pool news. We want to know how it turned out. Furthermore, if someone did well in a tournament, I'm sure they would appreciate seeing their names in the pool box score.

You are doing yourself a disservice. If you habitually don't put your results on the board, then I'm assuming your tournament is also poorly ran or no one showed up. If you put, "We had 55 players, paid out 8 places with these amounts..." , that would show to me as a potential player that you run a good tournament.

They don't put this stuff on Sportscenter. This site is our Sportscenter.

I also visit a site called Reddit when I am not reading about pool stuff. They have a tradition over there where when someone really likes a post that another user makes, they gift them with gold status.

I have never done that here, but I agree with this post so much that I felt compelled to gift hlymnstr14 with a gold membership.

Great post, hlymnstr14!

I agree. The tournament directors or the business that runs these tournaments should follow up and post results.
I don't think we need to hear about the payouts, but at least the order of finish; perhaps top 5 or so for local, top 10 for regional, and top 20 for professional.
Hell, get your name out there. Promote your room and your tournament.

At the end of the day, it's good for everyone.

And we are happy to post the events and results on the main site of the directors will just get us the info.

An excellent thought, congrats on gettin gold-gifted. A pat on the back from el jefe.:)

Mike- do you have any concept of the traffic #s to the tourney announcements section? I know that I visit it far less often than I used to, when it was considered 'main category' Material.
