Trouble seeing balls on blue felt

Folks,

A little help here...I noticed last night that I was seeing balls much more clearly on the green felted table than the blue I normally play on. Anyone else have this issue? I suppose there is no solution if I must play on blue? Sunglasses or something? I do have prescription lenses, but never wear them (I know,I know).

Is the lighting the same on both tables?
...some lighting affects how I see the balls....the colors don't bother me.....
....except gray cloth...I go blind on that stuff.

And there it is....the anticipated ball joke! Good on ya! But you did even better, incorporating the insane/nuts angle! Well played!

Same here. Its also easier on the eye over a longer period than green. Simonis did studies on this and found that both definition and eye-strain relief improved with blue.

I have green on both my tables at home but I usually compete on blue tables. I dont notice it easier to see the edges of the balls on either color. I also do not notice any eye strain playing on green for extended periods. But I know my vision sucks, was going to get Lasik this year but my wife lost her job due to cutbacks and along with it went my excellent health care coverage, now I must wait another year or 2, I hope.

Pt's, right.
The lights went out in the poolroom, the other night, and I couldn't see shit.
Instinctively I reached out and grabbed something round, and soft.
All of a sudden the lights came back on and I saw that I had my hand on to one of the waitress's breasts.
About that time her boyfriend walked up, and all of a sudden the lights were out again.
I think I need glasses.

You're allowed to do the breast stroke in a pool...
...but not a pool room:nono:

I think it is no wonder that you can't see the balls clearly without your prescription glasses. I am sure you wear them for a reason but hate to wear them when playing. Me too. Distance contacts were a godsend for me. I wear them only while playing and everything is clear as a bell. There have been many threads here about such matters. Give it a shot. If you can make it through the first couple of weeks getting them in and taking them out, you're home free. Different new world. Persevere.

Next time you go for an eye exam tell them you want to try a pair. The contact makers are more than glad to send you a free pair for a test drive. You can thank me later. LOL. Good luck.

Thanks Philly; I may do just that. But...smokey pool room and contacts seem to be a recipe for problems, no?

Simonis has a few different green colors, I like the tournament green better than the darker and more traditional blue green or dark green. The brighter green helps me see the edge of the ball.

I like tournament blue the best.

One thing about blue cloth playing 9 ball is that occasionally I don't notice the 4 ball is on the table. I thought it was just me but I noticed that it happens to other players as well. The 4 blends in pretty well. You would think it would be the 2 ball.
