MikeH said:You are responsible for the argument, there was really no reason to post about your previous dealings with each other (especially since you were both a bit unhappy) in this thread. Should have just said not interested and moved a long.
Everyone has had disappointments when buying/trading cues, I bought one not too long ago from someone on here with a great reputation. I guess I did not ask the right questions. I took it for granted that since I was paying top end price I would get top end product. When it arrived I was completely disappointed, not to mention I was charged over twice the shipping price, and cue had 0 insurance and I could hear the shaft and butt knocking into each other when it was delivered...no bubble wrap or even newspaper filler.
Costing me an extra $250 to get the cue refinished and joint replaced (where it was cracked).
Eventually everyone has a less than fully satisfying transaction at some point. If the issue is truly important then it should be addressed right away, trade reversed...money sent to correct issue...etc.
Point is you can't attempt to drag someone's name through the mud a ways down the road on a sale/trade where BOTH parties were less than forthright or at least not thorough with the inspection/disclosing of important facts and not expect the other individual to tell their side of the story.
If you open a can of worms, expect it to also come with a pungent smell.

I'm an honest guy here and want anyone I deal with to know my reasons behind something I say or do. yes, the cue is used and I don't care about that...that's fine, so was mine! what I was irritated about was the fact he blatantly neglected to check what it was he sent me for anything wrong instead of doing so and fixing it if it was bad. before you all jump the gun and say "well, the shaft wasn't original", like most of you already have, you don't know for a fact what our conversations were, nor do you know what was said. yes, it is not an original shaft but what is it, 9 thousandsths of an inch too small? did you all see that, or just wanted to blame me for this? it felt fine...really. I told him the issue anyways and said the shaft was older and he DID NOT CARE cause of the ferrule being ivory and the moori tip...and not to mention he got a good deal for it and got rid of a cue he obviously did not want. honestly, I should have held out for something else, so it is a mistake on my part and I'll have to live with it. that is the only mistake I made in this deal. my cue was in GREAT shape as it was, shaft and butt, and the butt of his cue is great, the shaft needs work. if you have the capability to do something to a cue instead of paying someone else like I have to now, do it and make it right instead of someone pushing an issue like I did here about a product less-than-good. I have said my peace in this issue and am done...leave it as it is guys.
