Hmm, that's strange. If it doesn't work, you can go to digitalpool.com and see the brackets there too. We are just embedding the bracket from there.

I'd like to see Archer win one more. It's weird watching him struggle after being so dominant for so long.
Very pleased to see all-time-great Archer in the field, and I'd be delighted to see Johnny have a good event. A top four finish would be a great achievement, and a win would bring the house down.

... but his last title came in 2016, so asking him to end a seven-year drought in a field containing Shaw (Fargo 825) and Gorst (Fargo 832) is asking a lot, as it's a certainty he'd have to beat one of them in a race to 13 in the final to win the event.

To me, anything other than a Gorst vs Shaw final will be a surprise.

Stu, this is the strongest field we have had here since pre-covid. I would love to say that I would take the field against Shaw/Gorst, but that might still be a losing proposition.

There is a name I haven't heard in a while.
did he stop playing? He beat earl strickland 10 years ago as a kid and I thought he was the future of USA pool at one point. But haven't seen or heard about him much since.

Last I heard he was focusing on college, but I figured he'd have graduated by now.

It's his life, but it does suck for the fans that he doesn't play in the occasional tournament.

I don't blame him, being a pro player doesn't make much unless your the top 0.1%, although I am glad that the scene has been steadily getting better each year, there is light at the end of the tunnel.

I don't know...with the level he was playing at, and U.S. pool being in the state it was and is, he could have continued to improve just competing part time and continuing to work on his game at home. Strange to just turn your back on it completely. My hunch is, it was always more his father's passion than his. Hope things are going well for him.

A little googling reveals he appears to have become strongly connected to Campus Ministry things at Lindenwood, met a future spouse through that, lost interest in pool, is into music and coffee (a brewing podcast), and is a 2nd-grade teacher in KY or MO.
