Timberly, you gotta try to get up here whenever the chance avails itself. I understand how difficult it can be to pick and choose which pool tournament to attend. Us working gals do have difficult decisions to make sometimes.
The b!tch of it is that I could've made it to this one. I couldn't swing it on my own and my choice of roommates is limited as there are very few that I would trust to room with. Less than a week ago I gave up on going up there, made other plans, and then got a phone call. Just my luck. It's ok... I'll be spending the weekend at the beach so not all is lost.

Mike Davis versus Dennis Hatch is the feature match of the day. What a tough draw for the very first round for each player. Whoever comes out on top is anybody's guess. Both players are known for the powerful 9-ball breaks, but, of course, on the Joss Tour, you must break from the box. I think whoever finds their "sweet spot" on the break will win this one.
Mike didn't play his best at the IPT event and I think he let that get into his head for a little while. Hopefully he's gotten past that and he and Dennis will both put on a good show. It's Mike's turn to win... Mike owes Dennis one from VF.

I was disappointed not to see Julie Kelly here. Karen Corr told me that Julie is competing in an IPT qualifier this coming weekend in Chelmsford. It was a tough choice for her to make, but she ended up choosing going to Chelmsford.
I understand a few of the players that were originally supposed to play in this event had to back out of it because of them playing in a qualifier.
I met one of the most prominent Native Americans who came to visit the Joss tournament today. His name is A. Ray Holbriter (sp). He was gracious enough to let me snap his picture. He's a leader in the Indian Nation world, and it sure was a pleasure meeting him. Driving back from Vegas, I bought quite a few Native American items. One of them was my hand-bead shoes. Mr. Holbriter immediately noticed them and complimented me. We chatted about a few current events, and I gotta tell you, it sure was GREAT to meet him.
That's about it for now. I'm going to run back in the tournament room.
