A TV deal for two years has been struck for US Open Yeah !!! The $$$$$ is in the bank to cover the tournament lets go US Open. Players are ready post up and Play. Make it happen. !!!!

fat albert...Guess you didn't read the other five page thread. Very little money will come to BB in this deal...plus it won't be shown in the USA. Accu-Stats hopefully will do a PPV for the US.

My post was in response to Barry's Run out Radio interview when he called on the players to be" patient that he was on the verge of TV deals all of which would assure that the money would be there. "

We know why...Scott just pointing out that it isn't a cash cow, or particularly good for the (domestic) public...yet!:scratchhead::banghead:

This really doesn't make a lot of difference IMO it will not be shown in the US as usual, which is BS. Will PPV make a difference, not in my opinion how many people will actually pay for it? Not many as with all Pool Tournaments only the die hard will I'm sure.

People need to do what they say they are going to do, that hasn't happened in the past and now assurances beyond simple words are required.

I will now not be going to the Open for the entire tournament whatever happens, we have made other plans for our vacation. I cannot take a chance on it and having to pay out good money up front. We may still go for the final stages, but it will depend on who's there and playing.

Question ?

I agree, Georgia Boy. At this point I think that the promises of monies added needs to be proven before anyone from the ABP will consider entering.

Is there a way to find out how many spots are left in the open ?

Mickey Qualls...There have already been players on the ABP list who have already declared that they are playing.

Doesn't matter what they declared, it isn't true until it happens. Considering all the commitments Barry declared in the past but never made happen, it is likely players may just be talking a good game.

In any situation it is tough to take someone's word at face value, because so many things can go wrong or change between now and opening day.
