TV Table Unlevel

I think johnny stated out with a very negative attitude towards diamond who is putting on a major event as we speak. What other table company and owners are putting anything bavk into the pro side of pool. None that i know of on the scale of diamond/greg s. so if u dont like the equipment or events. Feel free but if you do be aware there will be pushback.

As far as the rolloff i did not see it but have watched multiple matches tableside and from the seats it seemed to be very level and i have seen any player complaints to speak of

On the balls i like the aramith measles the best but hitting the cyclops balls they seem pretty good. The q ball is almost pearlescent but i bet that is easier on the tables ball return which uses a light

So a ball rolled off! It happens occasionally in pool rooms all across the world and even more so on tables that are setup and used over the course of a tournament for only a few days. Tables settle!!

I am pretty sure Diamond releveled the table quickly enough so that it was no longer an issue. Why get bent out of shape over it? Only person that should is the person for whom the ball rolled off?

The real problem is the short Pinoys almost laying on the table to reach a shot...That's why the table is unlevel!!! :p;)

Level is level.....it doesn't matter if it's a Valley, a Diamond, a piece of particle board, or a cement top table with 6 pockets on it. What's with all of the hating on Johnny? Some of you guys amaze me.

Go back and re read Johnnyt ' s first post, if you don't understand what he posted, then you never will understand. A "fan" is no different than the people that show up at a bar to play on a pool table when it's free to play, but never buy anything, and when the table is locked back up to start collecting quarters again, the "fan" is no where to be seen....yet complains about the bar going out of business....like they were a real customer of the bar!

Again.....this doesn't have a dang thing to do with a bad roll on a table. I'm a fan of a level table. I'm a Diamond fan. If had a Diamond and a Valley in one room and the Valley was level and the Diamond wasn't.......the Diamond wouldn't get played on until it was level.

Look son, I think you're still missing the picture....this is NOT about you, your feelings about a level or UNLEVEL pool table, or your feelings about a Valley vs. a Diamond level or not...and which one YOU would play on...it IS however about the comments made by Johnnyt in his first post about knocking Diamond as a FAN, and NOT as a paying customer....can I spell this out any easier for you to PLEASE understand?

Honestly, I don't think people are hating on Johnnyt as bad as Johnnyt hates on others.

I like much of Johnny's post but the dude gets more ornery all the time. His opening comment to the thread was pretty hard on Diamond. A company who does more for pool than any other table manufacturer and maybe and other pool related company altogether.

Aside, I haven't read too much from Johnny lately (that I've seen but may have missed something) that isn't flat out calling someone out on the carpet or being pretty critical.

Not saying that some of it may not be deserved but either way it's a pattern.

Several people who were sitting ringside have already said there was no balls rolling off, yet Johnnyt who's sitting at home....as disappointed "fan" started a thread about how Diamond is going down hill because he saw a ball roll off on the TV table...and that because of that....he as a FAN of Diamond....has never spent a dime towards Diamond....is DISSAPOINTED!!! WHO gives a sh#t what he's DISSAPOINTED in!

Apparently the table for the 1 pocket event rolled off enough (per Danny Deliberto on stream) that SVB was playing from the "wrong" side.

The comments made in his first post... about an unlevel pool table.

Don't even waste your time with him......he's always right and everyone else is wrong.

What RKC doesn't obviously know is that Johnny has a Valley on a covered porch and might not want to put a Diamond out in those kinds of conditions. Fans usually buy products that they like though.

If I bought a Diamond and had it set up by PROFESSIONALS and expected it to play perfect it had better play perfect.

Thank you MR. Brown. Yes, the outside screened patio is the reason I don't have a better table. About 6 or 7 years ago I asked Glen over in the mechanics forum if he would put ANY kind of Diamond outside and he said NO, they wouldn't last...get yourself a Valley. I never said a Valley is as good as a Diamond. What I have said many times on here, is that a 7' Valley plays close to a 7' Diamond when all bolts are tight, Ridgeback rails put on with 4 1/4" pockets, and good cloth...and of course leveled correctly. Where did I get this brilliant idea from? GLEN. The reason Valley's have a bad name is 95% of the bars and vending companies don't maintain them. Most on here never played on a Valley that was set up as I stated above, so they have no clue how close they play to a Diamond 7'. Johnnyt

to beat the ghost on a tough table simply wipe it down with silicon

CJ, that's a little trick to eliminate the effects of humidity friction in the cloth;)

I know the trick, and putting silicon on the table does make it play like a giant bar table.

As long as the players are informed about it, however they weren't in Tunica.

What about DCC, did the players know they wiped the 10' tables down with silicon? It takes time to get used to how the table plays, it doesn't make it roll off, but it does make the balls act unnaturally.

If anyone out there wants to beat the ghost on a tough table simply wipe it down with silicon, the table will play much, much, easier.

Play Well

How well does a 10' play when the cloth is loaded with humidity and sticky as hell...LOL?

Does anyone reading this know of another example of using silicon on a pool table

It plays much tougher than when you put a super slick substance like silicon on it.

I've never heard of artificially inducing a table to play that much easier in a pro tournament.

Maybe they should use a different cloth, or widen the pockets, silicon doesn't belong on a pool table. Trick shot artists use it so they can do those "amazing" masse shots.....but in a pro event?

I wonder how many of the players knew they were using it? Shouldn't they be informed so they can adjust accordingly? There's no way to play your normal game on silicon.

Does anyone reading this know of another example of using silicon on a pool table to make it play 200% easier?

Pro players playing for money on this table is a joke. The 3 ball Justin banked in game 2 (vs Daulton 1p) and 12 ball in 3 had perfect camera angles the ball rolled off something fierce. Unbelievable

RKC says you are just a fan too.....LOL. This isn't a good way to keep a professional profile in the billiard industry. Looks like some more installation training is needed.
