I am trying to learn how to play pool. I like to watch others play. I see a lot of players "kinda twist their wrist" as they are shooting. What is this all about. I did not think that this is a good idea.
From the sideline, it kinda looks like they are trying to "steer" the ball into the pocket.
Some people do this on purpose (e.g., to apply sidespin during the stroke), but it is usually just a technique flaw. For more info, see the following online videos:I am trying to learn how to play pool. I like to watch others play. I see a lot of players "kinda twist their wrist" as they are shooting. I'm familiar with backhand swoop but have never seen it performed to the extent in the videos above. Would the same technique be effective to the same degree on a Standard Diamond Pro table with Simonis?
I've twisted balls before but he put a fairly large masse on the object and I just don't think it can be done the same way on a real table.
