Earl Strickland has recently taken on a PR person or a manager/agent, which is his ex-wife. She understands the pool world, having been married to Earl and experienced it firsthand.
Since she has taken the pool reins for Earl, she has booked him in numerous exhibitions around the world, as well as created a Twitter account for Earl to communicate with his fans. She is to Earl what Jeanette Lee's agent is to Jeanette. I think she's doing a great job as far as helping Earl's career in recent times. It allows Earl to concentrate on pool, and she takes over the administrative and logistical duties.
Being a house pro in NYC at Steinway also allows Earl Strickland to concentrate on his pool game instead of traveling the country side, competing in regional events, incurring all the expenses, hoping to break even. It is a win-win for Earl and Steinway, I think. If you know Earl Strickland is in the house, it might be worth a trip to the Steinway to see a living legend up front and close.
Earl is in a good place right now. Whether he is having assistance in posting on FB, Twitter, and the like, it's still Earl's words. With the advent of these smartphones, Earl just might have figured it out, but he may not post one word without consulting with his manager/agent, which is a good move, considering he's becoming more active in the global pool world.
