For some reasons Taiwanese players are not playing too good in States, or should I say that they even lack motivation to travel to USA.
They do have some top finishes in Cardiff (Wales) WPC 1999-2003, but their game definitely lacks something if they travel far from home - unless maybe with a big group, as in Cardiff.
Po Chen Kuo, Bronze medallist WPC 2004 and Silver medallist 2005, played last year at the Opens and this year at the BCA, but didn't play too good.
Wu was at the IPT Reno, and finished something like 63rd..
Pinoys are playing strong in USA (actually anywhere), but they have Parica & Co here since early 80's or so. Also they speak fluent english and their culture is more western (american/spanish influence - catholic religion..) than what other Asian countries have..
It goes the other way also. If you compare the results from the US Opens to the results from the WPC (2004-2007, when played in Asia), the difference is dramatical. US players seems to triuph at the Opens, Taiwanese at the WPC. Pinoys triumph in both, but maybe more likely at their home turf at the WPC, at least when compared to US players of course..
