Is the one or the nine going on the head spot? I looked on line? Also called the web site at 7574998900 and all the lady would say is to find out more to attend the players meeting.

Until they get smart and use the magic rack we'll be watching the same old show. Reracks and *****ing with matches going on until 2am. Johnnyt

Actually the rack your own went very quickly with very very little in the way of the reracking fiasco from the prior year... The only bad aspect was the final day when they went to neutral rack and poor Ken Shuman couldn't get the balls racked properly to save his life....

If they use the magic rack it will be a complete and total disaster.... It sets up a trick shot by loading every ball in the rack... None of the pros I have asked think it has any place in professional pool... I will ask more this year at the Open and will report back what the feedback is....

Rack your own with money on the snap not counting is the way it should be played... ALL THE WAY THRU THE FINALS.......

I have spent too many hours working on developing a 9ball and 10ball break to let a silly piece of plastic give you what it took me years to learn.... I am only an amateur... You think the pros feel any less passionate about it???

i remember they tried to change the racking rules for this year because of all the problems they had last year. I remember they limited the rack to two tries, but dont remember if its breaker racks or opponent racks...anyone else remember the rules/format?

The smaller break box is just what I heard from one of the players going to the Open. I would guess it is the line between the spot and the first diamond on the head rail.

Also I believe I heard the 9 doesn't count on the break this year. Which it shouldn't in rack your own.

Just think, if years ago the money ball spoted on the snap we could have been watching Jean Balukas playing in the open this year.

If Jean was in her prime today we would definitely see her playing in it...

It wasn't the money ball on the snap that kept the women from being closer to equal it was the slower napped cloth....

Today's game is not about big strokes and power... On today's track Jean would have been amazing.....

You are correct sir. I kinda jumped the gun there forgetting about rack your own throughout the event. I too would prefer no magic rack in RYO because I know I can freezem as good as anyone and know many of my opponents would be giving themselves the occasional slugo.

So magic rack would come 2nd to that in my book but I'll take it over a ref racking in the semi's and finals of the event so we're sure both players are getting pretty close to the same rack.

The one thing I miss the least about playing is having to spot my opponents my good rack to their bad racks, intentional or not, it was just brutal playing people that couldn't rack even if you gave'em 20 to freezem. In all them yrs I never heard one player say "man I gotta practice or get better at giving a good rack" Love playing those folks now with more rack your own around.
And yes, spot the $ ball.
