Hello Grady,Grady said:Thanks for the prompt response, Alan. I'll be honored to play in the tournament. I have some questions I didn't find on your website:
1. I live in Columbia,SC. Where is the closest 6' X 12" table that is what you use in the tournament?
2. I need the pocket and snooker ball size and what type of cloth would be used.
3. If I wanted to purchase a snooker table for my pool room that is exactly what you use, can I get a decent price? Also what cloth? Of course the rules.
4. Entry fee?
Thanks in advance, Grady "The Professor" Mathews

I'm not sure about the breakdown, but the prize fund was basically 100% of the entry fees, or $75 * 24 = $1800. The final 16 players played a single-elimination tournament. The prelims were groups of 6 with four advancing from each group.Grady said:I'm looking forward very much to playing in your tournament, Alan. I've found most of the answers to the questions I have. I haven't been able to find the prize money breakdown? Thanks,

No sorry Grady. Snooker has a real ranking system from grassroots up. You only get to the top by getting to the top. There are no shortcuts, and without being unkind, you haven't got a cat in hell's chance.Grady said:Does winning the US title carry with it an invite to the World Championships?
Yes, the top two US players are invited to the IBSF snooker championships. Those are the amateur world championships, not the pro event at the Crucible. I don't know whether the winner of the IBSF event gets any kind of entry to the pro championships. While the US players are invited, the current state of snooker finance in the US is that they have to pay their own way to the IBSF championships.Grady said:Does winning the US title carry with it an invite to the World Championships?

I believe so. And that's when your troubles begin. If you haven't reached that stage by the grand old age of 21 or so you would be absolutely mad to put yourself through it. Unless you were independently wealthy.crappoolguy said:if you win the amateur world championships you get a place on the main tour i believe.

Come off it Ray. I bet it was two years ago, and there was nobody there watching to prove it either.raybo147 said:Cmon Boro how hard could it really be? I hit a 50 2 weeks ago, I think I would do ok!!!
