Ugly Duckling Schon R-12

Ugly Duck

Ugly as it may be, I still like it. What interests me is the mitred boxes. Every R12 I have ever seen does not have mitred boxes. Makes me wonder if it was an early attempt, a one off, a later repair? Who knows, but I imagine it still plays great.

My goodness that is my dream cue. If you ever, ever want to get free of that ugly Schon R-12 please pm me. Skip

ugly is not the right word

if you try to change it,i think you are making a huge error,if you like it play it,if you don't
play it,if you don't like it ,sell it

i think its a very nice cue the way it is

No repairs here, just an old R-12. Many of the early ones have these mitered boxes (S & R series).

@Skip - Everything has a price but I haven't thought about it yet

That cue is on my bucket list. Just give me a shot one day. Just don't forget your old, old, old, friend Skip LOL.

I've got cue's that are way uglier

Not a bad looking Jensen in those pic's as well

Great pics

Here is an R-12 I picked up a while back. I call it an Ugly Duckling because the Points (outer and inner) are way off and the Boxes in the butt have some pretty big gaps. The Points are so off that when I had it refinished I intentionally and specifically asked that the points not be fixed. See the last Point (inner point) in the last picture for the best example.

At the end of the day she looks beautiful and plays pretty amazing.

What do you think about my choice not to have the Points fixed?

Man that think is so ugly I feel hansom, bald head and all!!!!!

Nothing is perfect, and those few flaws do not make a difference in the long run only how it plays!:)

Take Care Buddy, hope all is going well.
