Unique mech tools

Nice John, I would still like to see the cushion cut after using your jig.

Donny, Sorry idid not have any rails in shop to use but i did a two minute job on a piece of scrap wood, NOT the proper angles, but hope this gives you a idea of how it works. I am doing a snooker next month and will post fbetter photos.

They are designed for 55 but i have used them on 66 with little adjustment they work quite well. When you put them in the jig, the top rail actually overlaps the cushion. You literally yank them out when your done!

when I first started doing tables I found my hammer a bit too large, cut the head down and working inside pockets is very easy, especially antiques.

I can't post the pictures as of right now, but I have a motorized slate stair climber coming out for all you mechanics!!! Yes, that's right...a motorized dolly that'll walk the slates up/down stairs for you...all you have to do is hold onto the T-bar handle, push the up/down button and away you go, no more breaking your back or sweating your ass off to get slates up or down stairs. As soon as it's ready for production, 1-2 more weeks and I'll let you guys see the pictures of it...IN USE!:D

but it looks cool when I ordered another gun safe thaqt close to what the guy used to get up 1 step. He carries everything on a trailer including several sheets of 1/2" ply as not to crack tiles and mare up hardwood floors all that wirght can mare or dent some floors. It should have wide wheels to distribute more wieght across the contact area..

That's a cool idea did some looking and yes they are $750 + now most are not in production anymore. Why not use some 2" square tubing aluminum and polish et or clear coat it and have 4 squares or 4 long "L" shaped squares to line up rails just long enough to get by the side pocket . Good idea I would be afraid of the homeowner chicking it out and dropping it on the table. Thanks for the input..

I use to use a carpenters square mounted on wood to the proper rail height for making corners sqaure but this level does 3 things. Its .0005, 1.75 high and flat on two sides and .0005 all around 12 inches square. Made in switzerland. You don't have to have one but it is very nice. side note: I know the inside of the pockets aren't finished and thats because I will do that when I sell the table. Its a Jefferson 1.5 slate, Chicago ball return.

these are very expensive 750 plus, ebay had it listed wrong or should I say the seller did and I got it for $25. It is now part of my Armada.

Another way to square up a table is use a string or tape measure diagonial from corner to corner. If the same its square. Just like building cabinets.

I still like the tool.

I'll just stick with that method....tried true and delivered.
But on the other hand....I'm a gadgit and gizmo kinda guy and think that square lever hootus is pretty cool! ($not 750 cool, but definately more than $25 cool...)Now I gotta go check Fleabay and see what other cool tools are on there:thumbup:

was bored today so I went to HD, bought a bathroom exhaust fan $25, 1 cardboard box $ .99, vent $9 and used an old double window exhaust fan with some scrap wood I had laying around.

built my glue tray into it and now I can glue in my garage with no worries and I can keep my a\c on so things work better including me. I don't like working in humidity if I can help it. Yes maybe it should go in the hack section but it works!

What did you do about using glue before this?;)
