Unique mech tools

was bored today so I went to HD, bought a bathroom exhaust fan $25, 1 cardboard box $ .99, vent $9 and used an old double window exhaust fan with some scrap wood I had laying around.

built my glue tray into it and now I can glue in my garage with no worries and I can keep my a\c on so things work better including me. I don't like working in humidity if I can help it. Yes maybe it should go in the hack section but it works!

With a little more R&D John, you might find out that using a shop vaccum to suck the fumes out, along with another shop vac hose connected to the exhaust of the shop vac...you could vent the fumes outside more effectively...since a shop vac moves more cubic feet of air than a bathroom fan does;)

well Glen of course more movement of air would help but at 70CFM per min this is plenty. It also qualifies for OBAMA stimulus incentives. Also it is quiet, didn't want to have to wear ear protection or wake up my family as I regularly work all hrs as you can see from my posts....

Further that is only the base unit, of course it also has a hood. No need to throw a bucket of water on a match:cool:

now that I am thinking a bit, I can even take this in my van and do rails any time of year with no problems. Thats going to look great on my new website. You should have one for your truck. Did you like my staple pattern?

It would be nice for others to share, thats what everyone told me your suppose to do. How about ways to test rubber, take a clear tube at 90 degrees, with sample rubber anchored to a blank rail liner. How high will the ball bounce when dropped from 6 ft? what would be the difference between makers, or how about a piece of Simonis tilted at 45 degrees like a ski ramp. At what height does a ball need to be dropped to casue ball burn marks?

Oh well, my spreadhseet for such things grows almost everyday. To me its just fun. Maybe it doesn't work all the time but one idea usually generates another.. NO ideas generate nothing!

Yesterday I was so busy doing nothing....that I only got half of it done:eek::D

Just a bit of safety you should use an explosion proof fan not a regular fan which can emit sparks on start up and shut down. I dont think the glue most of use can be the flammable just remeinding you about safety.

I like the idea of the fan I made similar for my wood working tools but didnt think of it for a glue table.

Cool Cool

here is another great weapon, I use it for GC pocket screws. It has just enough power both ways and have never had a problem using it. EBAY for about $35.

Glen your overdue on the pics of your stairclimber?

side note-- I have decided to make one also that runs from a cell phone battery

also here is another great tool, scruffy know what its used for?

I think the electrical tape is to hold the feather strips together from job to job. If you mean that tie holder so you dont let you tie land in the glue or get stapled to slate liner... Just kidding I dont think I know this one yet this might be fun..

Craig

right its not the tape but you can use gorilla blk tape on the top of pockets to stop them from rubbing on your cue.

should be interesting and no cheating asking my friends

no guess from anyone yet. on the previous clip question.

I will give a hint:

you don't use them on Diamonds

I just came across this. Doesnt matter because i still have no idea! Will think about later. How about another pic?
