Osborne has some cool tools. I bought a couple of their knives last summer. I must have overlooked that staple puller. Looks pretty good. I WILL have one of them on the way.......today :grin: A man can never have too many tools.....right? I'll keep Jose' for a backup
no, but I've thought about purchasing that many times. How well does it match the tip to the ferrule in the long run?
You betcha! I got one and I love it. I'm a rank amatuer and this enables me to do a pretty decent tip install. Dammed good tool.
Grandpa Jim.... loves tools designed for a specific job.... inspired thinking!
I have posted this ez-jack before. I wouldn't work without it.
Porper...
I believe it was Porper who made something like that (the tip tool), if not that one. They work fine but the ones I used left a taper on the sides of the tip. It works along the lines of a pencil sharpener. You can go too far and start beveling the side of the ferrule if you're not careful.

I actually have some of the shaft holders in my basement. They have a plastic collet in them.

Pat, I remember seeing you use the jack you have and it worked very well. Is that something available store bought or did you fabricate that?
The pads are for knees, right? I'm curious how and why you use it. And also if it is intended to be used like that (because it looks like industrially manufactured rather than self-made).

For melting wax? For drying glue? For locating hard to find bolt holes? Doing tables in foreclosures that have already had the lights cut off? Between you and me, John (and everyone else reading this), that one doesn't LOOK used!
