This one was some version of the LS. The ferrule was .85 long with a Ø3/8 through tennon. Once I cut the tip off I could see exactly what you guys are talking about. The wood tennon is sleeved with a darker wood. I was expecting a capped ferrule but with it being a through ferrule things went a lot easier. I ended up turning the tennon down to Ø.302, replacing the ferrule with Juma, turned the cue down to Ø11.25, then finish sanded to Ø11mm.
I don't understand why someone would buy such a nice shaft when they know it's not the size they wanted to begin with? It did turn out how he wanted in the end though.
