First post in IDK how long.....Been out of the pool scene due to life and current job...at best a sometimes weekend warrior....In the meantime I have developed some "GOOSE-3D" things pool related....One that fits the weird/unique tool/implement.
All made from a flexible rubber like material.
First one is custom butt cap.....standard black was boring so I made a two tone....attached is the current one
I call the next one the "comfort grip"...You can't really see it in the picture but it has cutouts for the fingers and is kind of "squishy" since it is made from flexible material.......It has a friction fit cap that covers the chalk while in case.
This next one fits the weird....seemingly silly tool implement....I call it the "Stroke Iron"....It gets the wrinkles out of your stroke. It was hard for my shaking one handed hold on the cue and one handed picture take to get a perfectly aligned picture...but you should get the idea.....The fins,wings,flaps....whatever you want to call them are 57mm.....(the width of the ball)....It also has three triangles at the top....One center and one on each edge......I use my own variation of shaft alignment...(notice I did not say aim).......(there are multiple ways to apply shaft alignment)....the triangles assist in pin point alignment and the fins not only center your cue on the CB....they also assist in letting you know if your butt end is crooked (the fins will be at a slight angle to the CB).....(I also believe it may even help with head position on set up but can not confirm or deny that without an experts opinion).......The biggest feature of the fins...which was shocking to myself and has been apparent in anyone that has tried it....is....you may think your stroke is straight (down a line or rail)....but the "fins" will broadcast to anyone and everyone if you have a "twist" in your stroke.
The above is actually one of three....The one above is for someone similar to myself that is aligned (starting) through center CB on every shot and use points on the shaft to align with my target.......I also have one that only has the fins but no triangles....If you are a pivot aimer (not my thing except of one shot) it will still let you know if you have twist in your stroke. The third one I call the Stroke Iron Mini....It has the triangles but no fins.....You can play entire racks with that one and the triangles still give you some feedback on stroke twist...(but not as well as the fins).....I am not sure of the "legality" of playing with the mini...I am still waiting on confirmation from TDs in the Arizona area......However If I ever get out for another tournament....I may give the mini a go.
Worst case they fit in my case and I can pop it on to warm up the rusty stroke between weeks of play.
Now that you have had a good laugh for the day.......You might very well be surprised if you tried it....and (like me) realize you really don't have as straight a stroke as you think you do.....
