Wow!! I thought it was pretty cool that Johnny sat down and took questions from AZers earlier tonight! Maybe next time we can have video too!

Ray

Thanks to you too, Ray. The live chat room was great. I wish I had more notice and had a chance to prepare. I would have had a slew of questions.

In lieu of this I am going to start a thread about Efren Questions.
Thanks for the idea.

I would like to know who JA thinks should be on the mosconi cup team.

He obviously didn't answer that question with an specifics. Probably due to politics involved if he IS able to pick the team.

Unless they're changing the criteria or I'm mistaken about the criteria, there isn't a lot of room for hand picking players. I thought the majority (except Earl) earned their spots on the team by their accomplishments on the tournament trail this past yr?

Regardless of whether Johnny gets a say in the matter or not, it was wise of him to avoid directly answering that question. There are too many players & friends in the pool world and very few spots on the team. The only thing he could accomplish by answering that question directly is hurt feelings and animosity from the players he didn't mention.

He did say there were too many chiefs and not enough indians.

I agree with him and I don't see where that answer could cause him any grief. I think he would rather see less captains (didn't they have a few last yr? My memory has gone to pot so I can't say for sure without researching). Maybe he would rather see one of those captains (could be himself) become an indian. Either way, he didn't mention any names and I don't see how that comment could really cause any problems for him. If he were to name specific names of who he would like to see on the team, I guarantee someone would get their feelings hurt and hold that against him.

I didn't mean to imply that would cause him grief because it shouldn't. I am not sure he meant there were too many "actual" captains. I think what he meant was they just need more TEAM players overall.

Matchroom sports pick the teams for Mosconi Cup. Obviously they usually take #1 ranked player from each side of the pond andthe US Open Champ then I think they pick who is doing well or who has performed well in the mosconi cup. I think there will be some changes this year on the USA team anyway. I am going to say it will be

Varner as Captain
Archer
SVB
Morris
US Open Champ (If American) if not Schmidt if he keeps doing well.

Thats just my prediction I obviously have no idea.

i got alot of my questions answered and thought this was as cool as shit!!!!

Thanks Jason! Could not have happened without T-wheels bringing it to us!!

I did miss copying the beginning of the chat, but a friend sent me some that they copied and it included one question that I missed. Here it is:

6:35 Rubyron: Johhny, is it true that T-wheels offered to play you a set for $300?
6:38 scorpion-archer-1: t-wheels cant make 2 in a row. just kidding

I am planning another chat that will be very exciting!! I'll announce it when I get everyone committed!

Thanks,

Ray
