[Up-to-Date] DC++ - Current Hubs

Well I did some investigating and the easytree site ONLY allows music related torrents, but I did find one at http://demonoid.com/torrents.php that will allow any theme of torrents. I have never used this site before. Has anyone else?

Just out of curiousity, what are you guys talking about? I know what bittorrent is, in fact, I use it all the time. I've gotten torrent files from demonoid.com as well, but I'm curious what sort of files you guys are all talking about trading.

Various pool related videos. A lot of folks are using the P2P DC++ technology to share the pool ralated videos (and what ever else) from someone else's hard drive to yours. Someone said something about using torrents as another way to share, but did not know of a site to host them. I am farely new to the whole torrent game and have only really used one site. The only prob that I have with the DC++ is the slow d/l of what ever I am getting and the amount of users that can connect at one time. It has been my experience that there is hardly ever a slot open for what I want. However, with torrents the d/l speed is somewhat quicker and what you are tring d/l is not only d/l form the uploader (seeder) but from everyone else who is d/l too (leechers).

With that demonoid site...in your experience are there a good amount of seeders?

Revconnect should solve your slowness and open slot problem because it supports multiple source downloading(bittorrent).

However, if your behind a firewall and cannot open a port for dc++ then you can still only download from active users. Passive to passive downloading will never work in dc++.

Download on.....................
I should have some new one pocket videos in the next coupla weeks...........

Peace

Yeah, I was reading the info in the link you posted after I wrote that. It looks pretty cool. I'll have to give it a go.

Passive to passive never works w/ torrents either. :(

Thanx.

I finally got hooked up to this dc++ revconnect. I highly suggest you guys check this out. It's a little difficult to get the hang of at first but once you get it working it is awesome. Some of these guys have tons of pool videos that they are sharing.

Remeber, that in the preferences you need to choose passive mode, if you don't have a fixed IP-address (dynamic IP). Then (I think) you cannot transfer files with other users with passive mode. But, if you have fixed IP-address, you can use active mode.

I had this problem in the beginning...

I have a dynamic ip addy from my service provider. It changes every couple of days. I remain active and just check it every once in awhile, and when it changes, I change it in settings in dc++. Works just fine. However, it could be annoying for someone who doesn't check the program very often.
Just an idea.....

Yeah, depends on the service provider. My friend's IP-address can change anytime and leaving the dc++ running will be difficult take care of.

Oh, simple advice to find out your IP-address:
-open ms-dos prompt/command prompt. Either from programs->accessories or start->run and typing cmd
-type ipconfig
-voilá

Otherwise it's surprisingly difficult to get hold on your IP-address.

I work nights and this night prior was my night off and I've been watching pool videos the entire night. It was great! heh. I've finally got to watch Keith play. He does have a lot "character" around the pool table. And when he gets into a rhythm it is something to watch. His stroke is very interesting. He almost seems to poke whitey instead of following through.

Unless they are behind a router or using Windows 98.

The easiest way to find your IP is to visit this site.

when it says "Your sharesize is too small. Currect sharesize is: 1 GB"
does that mean that I have to have an existing 1 GB of video so I can download videos? if so.. does it have to be pool related?

That is a prompt from the particular hub you are trying to connect to. It means you have to share at least 1GB of material(music, video, pics, documents, etc...anything really) to connect to THAT hub and you're not. Put some more stuff in your shared file and you'll be fine. There are many hubs that require 50 or 100GB share or more.

What's the addy? Is there a username and pass needed?

And I understand that the files you are limiting your site too are higher quality, but why not allow the lower quality if the higher quality does not exist?

I am also wondering if anyone was savy enough to record what ever the BCN broadcasted? I understand there was difficulty with them.

Doing simply DVD quality videos only is lame. Like some edited ESPN womens match in a B rate tourney is prefferable to rare footage of Lassiter playing in his prime or a rare money match of Keith verses Sigel back in his prime recorded with a camcorder. I reccomend you change that because it makes no sense and makes you look like a noob that has no clue what he is doing. If we wanted DVD quality videos we could go out and buy the Accustats ourselves instead of stealing them off the net. It is the rare unobtainable footage that is golden on a pool video sharing site.

any pool hubs active now?

I've finally have a 54.0 mbps connection. Is that fast enough to get some pool downloads? Is there a site where people share? How is it done? Software needed?

Thanks for the info.

This thread should get you started:

http://www.billiardsdigest.com/ccbo...Number=146972&page=&view=&sb=&o=&fpart=1&vc=1

I would recommend using www.revconnect.com as your client instead of the straight DC++ software, as it seems to run more smoothly, for me anyway.

Current pool hub:
interpool.dnsalias.com

Hi Dennis ! I'm currently logged in interpool.dnsalias.com as [FIN]buddy and I'm keeping order there as an OP. Many videos shared there, though not many users  Welcome !
